Re: movement detector

Sure you can. Try using OpenCV, it's a C library that will help you to identify humans using a camera. What you would have to do then, would be to trigger a script whenever the camera detects a human. This script should pull up or down a GPIO pin, depending on your setup, turning the buzzer on.

Re: Logging data to a web server

Hello martyndwheeler! For 1) I can't help you much, because I don't know anything about python. All my knoweledge resides in C and PHP 2) I had a sensor system sendind data through an XBee and receiving it over the RaspBerry Pi with a serial port data logging daemon I made in C. This daemon stored t...

Great! I'm glad it wasn't going to blow with my guess xD

Post back with feedback about how it worked ^^

Re: Help with controling 4 SSRs - H E L P !!!

I have never used one of those relays, and also its difficult to tell without more information about what you want to connect, but as I can see over its datasheet " http://pdf1.alldatasheet.es/datasheet-pdf/view/128624/ETC1/JGX-1505FB.html ", you would connect it this way (by your own responsibility...

Re: Help with controling 4 SSRs - H E L P !!!

It's just as you say, but with some little considerations. You'll need to add "sudo" to each instruction you posted. If this doesn't work, you can first do "sudo -i" to be able to input commands as root, and then do the rest. Also, you might want to chmod the directory of the exported gpio folder, s...

Re: Sensors for human detection

Well, maybe it would be not a 100% solution, but it adds a lot to it. Actually I think it's a great idea, to have some sort of identification device with family members and dogs, like bluetooth (maybe XBee too, as it has an RSSI indicator as well), or some RF id system. And this wouldn't be expensiv...

Re: Sensors for human detection

Well, what I had in mind was a combination of sensors, not just one sensor that does the perfect job, but maybe this doesn't exist. Anyway I'll start trying different setups for a cheap and more reliable human detection with 2 or 3 sensors combined. If there is someone with any theory about this, or...

Sensors for human detection

Hello everyone! this is my first post, so I hope i'm asking this in the right place :) First of all, Raspberry Pi is just awesome, I'm having a great time installing, configuring, programming, erasing and doing all over again, just for the sake of learning something new each time. Introducing my que...
