Re: Writing a file leads to USB drive errors

What type of USB drive? As said is a solid-state USB pen. If it's a USB flash drive has it reached end-of-life (they go the same way as SDCards when they're worn out). If it's a hard disk spinning thing, is it short of power? I tried with different pens, some bought very recently. The power supply ...

Writing a file leads to USB drive errors

I'm running a slightly customized Raspbian Stretch Lite on a RPi3B+. I launch this script every hour as a cron job: ip -o addr show up primary scope global | grep '\binet\b' | while read -r num dev fam addr rest; do echo ${dev} ${addr%/*} > /home/pi/resources/ip.txt; done `/home/pi/resources` is act...

Re: USB drive re-mounted ro due to errors

If your drive is always plugged into your RPi then why is it formatted as VFAT. Because I save there logs and other user files. If there's a problem with the hardware the operator can follow a "rescue procedure" and he can plug the USB pen drive (after shutting down the RPi) in a common Windows com...

Physically unplugging the stick from any computer without releasing/unmounting it properly.
The pen is always inserted into the RPi. I didn't remove it. I just issued several `sudo reboot` and I got the error.

As I wrote I've already tried with both `lcd_rotate` and `display_rotate`. Are you saying to try with `rotate_lcd`?

EDIT: tried with no luck

Re: Speed up Raspbian boot

Hi, unfortunately I need all those services. Those I don't need I've already disabled. I know TinyCore or Buildroot. But the major drawback is they are bound to a specific processor. Instead my Raspbian image works fine with all RPi models (tested on B+, 2 and 3). Of course I can change hardware but...

Speed up Raspbian boot

I'm customizing a Raspbian Stretch Lite image to fit my needs. I'm quite fine with the results but now I would like to speed up the booting process because it takes so long to complete. Here some outputs: $ systemd-analyze Startup finished in 1.653s (kernel) + 1min 31.345s (userspace) = 1min 32.999s...

Re: Illegal instruction when running Qt5 application

Thanks for the hint, I've checked the mkspec: MAKE_CFLAGS += \ -marm \ -mfpu=vfp \ -mtune=arm1176jzf-s \ -march=armv6zk \ -mabi=aapcs-linux it seems the ARM version is correct, doesn't it? Anyway the code is executed on an RPi3 - weird!

Re: WiFi is enabled but doesn't try to connect

sudo iwconfig wlan0 ap <address> Great! This did the trick! Is this mandatory? This will require the MAC address of the AP. But the board might be configured before sending it to the end-user.
