Graph download speeds?

Hello, I was curious if i could get my Pi to run the command (have this all run via crontab) iwconfig and have it graph out the bit rate & signal strength.
Is this possible in Python? if so, anybody know how?

Thanks in advance! :D

Reset button

Hello,

I picked up a momentary button & I was just wondering how I would go about using it as a reset button, to reboot the Pi via GPIO.
Does anyone know how too?
Thanks in advance!

Getting Pi to send email

Hello, So currently I have my Pi set up when it reaches XX temperature, it will light up an LED. Pretty simple eh? Well, now i want it so when it reaches XX temperature it will send me an email, does anyone know how i could do this? I also have it set up when the Pi boots, it sends me an email with ...

Re: LED on boot

Connect it with a resistor to one of the GPIO lines and ground. Then put the following in /etc/rc.local (just before the "exit 0" line) # I'm using GPIO 4 (pin 7 of connector P1) as an example echo "4" >/sys/class/gpio/export echo "out" >/sys/class/gpio/gpio4/direction echo "1" >/sys/class/gpio/gpi...

How to make a email notifier with LED

I'm pretty noob-ish with coding, but I was wondering if it would be possible to have my Pi check my email, and light up a LED (via GPIO) when I get an email. I've seen these done before with Gmail, but none of them have worked for me. As well I was wondering if it was possible for it to check my app...

Re: Is it possible to have the Pi enable a fan?

Hi drsoupy, In december i did a project to heat my little pond during the winter. Your problem is the same but on the opposite side. I do have an example on how to read the temperature and control the relay. My python code was reading external sensor and cpu temperature. This will give you some hin...

Re: Is it possible to have the Pi enable a fan?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Yes is the answer. To read the internal temperature, use this command : pi@raspberrypi /opt/vc/bin/vcgencmd measure_temp You could use python to do that, then enable the fan via a gpio line (using suitable hardwre to enable a relay, or switch on a transistor, for exampl...

Is it possible to have the Pi enable a fan?

Is it possible to have the Pi enable a fan when the Pi's temp goes over a set temperature? Im pretty good at coding, just not 100% sure how to go about doing so..

Thanks in advance.
