Re: Is an rpi ok for 2x usb drives running extplorer

I have a 7 port powered usb hub my hard drive is a Toshiba 4Tb. I have booted 2 differ Pis using this setup (1) your basic Wheezy and (2) a NOOBS install of XBMC. I have not tried 2 separate hard drives, but, I would not expect any problems.

Re: connecting pi to laptop

Ok, you have implied that the bridge option is not working. Are you using the same version of windows as shown in the link? Can you provide more details about what is wrong?

Re: Retro Pie DGen Controls Help

Dont be shy or fearful, snoop around at the directories and files. As long as you dont delete, rename or edit & save, then you will do no harm. With that out of the way, I think you will find most config stuff under /etc. CD into the directory and start listing the file. As you list the directory co...

Re: Totally new to computers

If you have an Android phone, you have Linux running under Android. Some apps for opening a terminal login window will also allow you to login to your phone's Linux. There are often CD/DVDs in Linux magazines at your local news stand or book store that offer "Live" linux boot. These boot Linux and d...

Micro center is not exclusive to Houston, but, are you by chance in Houston? If so I know of 2 local people that have successfully booted the Pi, and could offer some support.

sucess w/wheezy/4Tb disk/noobs/xbmc

Booted Wheezy the first time about two weeks ago, it booted properly the first time. I will build it up as a desktop/programming system. Tonight booted the NOOBS for the first time with misgivings. But they were unfounded as it worked as it should. I selected XBMC. So far I have hooked it up to a 40...

Re: :-( - My First PI wont boot

Is there a log file written to the SD during your bootup and have you tried to find it?

If you find such a logfile, you might find a clue.
