Re: Long exposures

I already tried the setting you suggested and it works somewhat better for twilight and is therefore useful for that. However, leaving the camera with that setting gives totally washed out daytime images. If it was mentioned in this thread how to get useful images with the full range of light condi...

Re: Long exposures

Thanks for checking James! How does the gain value translate to ISO? I've tried various settings and the highest ISO I can get is 1600 (with the above command using sports mode and 1 sec shutter speed). Manually setting anything higher than 1600 (or even setting 1600 in most exposure modes) seems to...

Re: Long exposures

I'm not sure how others feel, but I'd take the grain if it means I'm going to get an exposure. When I leave the cameras running all night in the dark, every little bit of exposure helps. Another stop (if we could set the ISO to 3200) would be a great help in being able to see something in the night ...

Re: Long exposures

thanks James! Is there any way to get the night or verylong exposure mode to automatically go up to 1 second at ISO 1600 without passing any shutter speed setting? (provided the timeout is long enough) If its not currently possible, is this something that could be changed in raspistill or the camer...

Re: Long exposures

Before I tried the 10 second timeout, I was noticing the same thing with the sports mode, and an issue with the verylong mode in low light. I did a few simple tests by turning down the dimmer on my lights at night: when the light level dropped to where raspistill was exposing near 1 second at ISO 20...

Re: Long exposures

Is it possible to modify raspistill so that either the night or verylong exposure mode can automatically expose up to the maximum exposure that's currently available via manually setting the shutter speed in the sports mode? By setting the timeout parameter to 10 seconds, I was able to get a 1 secon...

Re: Long exposures

In the post titled "exposure" it sounds like the above update for long exposures is now available. In what mode(s) are the long exposures available? I just updated earlier today and the longest exposure I'm getting in the night mode is still 1/4 second at ISO 800. I'm not passing an ISO setting and ...

Re: Daylight IR photography

I just got the Pi NoIR Camera in the mail a couple days ago. I've set up a live time-lapse webcam with it at: http://markmarano.com/live-infrared-time-lapse-webcam-with-raspberry-pi-noir-camera I'm currently using the "blue thing" filter that came with it, though may experiment with various infrared...

Re: Post your live webcams using CSI camera board

i've set up a live time-lapse webcam that takes one photo per minute. it's been running since i got my pi camera board back on may 15th. when i was on the road during the summer, i had the camera pointing up out the top of my camper or on the windshield of my truck -- it was only uploading one image...
