Re: How would you use a Raspberry Pi device?

My pet project for my first Raspberry is a low power consumption laptop like device. The goal is to have a low power laptop with a high power battery pack to have it run an entire night in a bar with free wifi. So far I picked the needed keyboard with track pad combo device to have it work in tests....

Re: Setting up a wifi adapter??

Which devices work and those that don't is the bane of Linux users anywhere. If you use a normal desktop on Linux, you can find out the chipset of the wi-fi adapter by plugging it in and run the needed commands using the console. If you use Ubuntu, plug it in while the desktop is running. If you get...

I Got my Raspberry Hynx to Light Off on Raspbian.

Thanks to the people who helped me out. I got my card to light off (boot up) on the 2013-02-09 Raspbian version. For those with a Raspberry Hynix, go to Google and type in something like "raspbian hard float 2013 download" and you'll find it. That was how I found the needed image file, Have a nice d...

Re: Raspberry Hynix Won't Start.

I found that the date on the working Arch kernel has the date of Feb 11 2013. I also found a nice tutorial on setting up Arch Linux the rest of the way to have a full desktop. I tried the Arch kernel with Raspbian. No dice. Anyone know which wifi dongle chipsets that work on a Raspberry Hynix?

Re: Raspberry Hynix Won't Start.

I rawrote the Arch Linux onto one of the SD cards and tested it and it booted perfectly. It even recognized after boot the PS/2 to USB cord for keyboards. I bought that cord to save a USB slot to later use wifi for a project. Now, for the fun part. Is soft/hard float in the kernel? If so, a good exp...

Re: Raspberry Hynix Won't Start.

The date on the files is October 2012. In the mean time, I'll try to start it on Arch Linux hard float.

Re: Raspberry Hynix Won't Start.

I downloaded the Raspbian distro from this site a few days ago so I have no clue about compatibility with either Raspberry Samsung or Hynix. It sure don't work with my Hynix card. What would be nice is a diagnostic image that tells if it's a hard or soft Samsung or a hard or soft Hynix. When I put t...

Raspberry Hynix Won't Start.

I recently bought a Raspberry Pi and downloaded the image from this site, then using dd tried to rawrite it to the SD card. I plug it in and.... nothing. The red LED lights and stays lit and only one flash of the green one. No NTSC video at all. I check the troubleshooting section. I found out about...
