Hmm I already had rtl8188eufw.bin in /lib/firmware/rtlwifi and I don't recall putting it there. I did, however, use your module at least once in the past on the older kernel.

It seems that the newest kernel(3.18.12-v7+ #782) already has the proper drivers for this dongle.

Re: Midori memory leak?

Came across this thread. I also have this problem. My Raspberry Pi constantly shows a JQuery/Ajax based page with Midori. After about a week Midori is killed by the out of memory watchdog. Use chromium instead. Mine has being running since september 8th it has never crashed. However, it does use 60...

Re: USB / Network freeze with Logitech C920 webcam

Do you see any errors in dmesg? Nope, no errors except for w1_slave_driver 28-0000044b5dde: 18S20 doesn't respond to CONVERT_TEMP. which is completely unrelated to usb. Its being up for 22:50:38 up 3 days now and usb/ethernet didn't hang.(with the hourly usb reset) I am continuously(every 60 second...

Re: Solar/Wind Power Web Graphing

First of all, that text file needs to be accessible via http browser(or samba but it would compilate this project). Then you can use JQuery library for javascript to open and parse that raw data into javascript on your raspberry pi. Then you would need to somehow sort out the raw information. You ca...

Re: USB / Network freeze with Logitech C920 webcam

I've decided to simply reset the webcam's usb port every hour and everything has being working stable for ~48 hours now. It's not the best solution, but it works and takes few seconds to reset instead of rebooting the whole device. echo 1-1.2 > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usb/unbind echo 1-1.2 > /sys/bus/u...

What is the model of your bluetooth? Type lsusb into console and check if it shows something like Bus 001 Device 00x: ID 0xxx:0xxx BT Adapter name (No firmware) Replug bluetooth(also check if your raspberry goes into reboot as you do that) and type dmesg see if it shows any errors there. Re: Raspberry PI Helicopter!

Pi for helicopter is probably going to be an overkill. You would need a bigger battery to support both pi and helicopter. Bigger battery = more weight to carry, so it might not be able to lift it easily/at all. Then you would have to consider how you are going to control it and how raspberry will in...

As other have said: you can't. However, for ~300 bucks you can buy something like ASUS Eee Box and simply install linux on it.

Re: Weather Station Design Flaw

A solar system is *very* complicated to calculate and set-up. You'll first need to know the power consumption of your system. You'll then need to figure out how many sun-hours your location gets. Then you need to figure out how large of a battery you need. Most likely you'd want a 12V battery syste...

great work. someone suggested the JVM is a bottleneck, as well as the NIC. is it possible to see a hadoop-like mapreduce implemented in C/C++ and networked via USB? may also be worthwhile to try attaching Intel SSDs to the Pi. You can do something similar to what I did with my Clock project. You can run web browser in full screen and make very simple html page + jquery that will switch pictures. You don't even have to download them to your rasberry, you can just link them directly to the source server. I can show you an e...
