Re: Video guide to resize the partition to fill the SD card

Nice video - but perhaps a bit scary for a newbie. Should this not all be automated into a script - potentially even running automatically on first boot of the Debian image?

That is useful thanks.

What if I want to compile on the pi? Any extras needed as far as packages outside the default on squeeze?

Re: Compiling Guide?

Do any additional I packages need to be installed to have a full dev environment on the current Ubuntu image? I see the standard gcc and libs are there - any extras needed?

What about standard arcade components like buttons and analog joysticks. Could these be interfaced to the gpio?

<t>You can still do that - but remember this is an educational tool. Downloading stuff only to find it doesn"t work, or is outside the capabilities of te Pi could well sour the Pi experience.<br/> <br/> I"m not suggesting restricting to a pi repository ala-Apple, but rather having a raspi tested and...

Re: Dedicated raspi apt-get repository?

Does one exist?

I"m thinking - particularly for education, an optional closed ecosystem of applications known and tweaked to work with e Pi would be welcome.

Any comments?

I"m thinking of using one of these as a base.  Wii Arcade Stick

I wonder if these generic buttons and joysticks can be interfaced to the gpio somehow.

Do any of the Rpi distros have video4linux support - and if so, which USB webcams are supported with arm Linux drivers?

I tried a search, but came up with zero on the v4l question.
