Bird Box ambitions

Let's just say I am a total noob and my RasPi has lingered for far too long on a shelf waiting for a project. Let's also say I have a USB camera and appropriate equipment to set up as a standalone , off grid powered camera. The big question is how do I go about it! I live on a narrowboat so the setu...

Re: Im selling my pi

<t>Seriously, point me to a single piece of legislation that dictates if you resell something, it must be at a loss. Then, point me towards where it said that by pre-ordering a RasPi you cannot re sell it unless you give a wedge of any profits made to the Foundation. Grow up, it is his property to d...

Re: Im selling my pi

Why should he? It is his to sell at whatever price the market dictates. If he makes a donation, that should be his choice and not because he has been peer pressured into it.

Re: Really unethical

<t>I think anybody spending that much is plain mad when they can be had at a fraction. I understand if they had donated the extra to the Foundation as they have a massive disposable income, but to give some ebay hawker that amount is pure stupidity! Fair play to the seller, they didn"t start it on a...

Re: all the shysters are coming out of the woodwork

It is human nature that people will try to profit from other people"s efforts. Morally, I think people stink but legally they are doing nothing wrong. Best to just ignore it.

Re: What are you reading at the moment?

<t>I am on the final book of the Chronicles now, I will be sad to finish it as I have really enjoyed it. Got to agree with the Dan Abnett stuff too, and most of the Horus Heresy stuff is good although there are the odd lame books in there. I rarely quit a book, but there have been two in the series ...

Re: Electricity Meter.

<t>I work for an energy company, and this can be a problem for you as your readings could completely go to pot if you are one of the older meters. For instance, say your meter reading is 99999 and you use 2kW then you reading would be 00001. Then, you generate 3kW through your PV panel and that puts...

Re: What are you reading at the moment?

<t>I really enjoyed the Hyperion quantos, although the Endymion part of the story was just so obvious and that slightly dissapointed me but I still enjoyed it. I am still on The Chronicles of Master Li and Number Ten Ox, fantastic so far and I am halfway through book two. It is quite difficukt to ge...

Re: Where's the respect gone?

<t>I drop in now and then, but interest has waned for me. I thought things were moving along fine until RS and Wotsit got involved. Yes, there would have still been a delay without them but I still maintain that selling the first batch to the community on the forum would have been a much wiser choic...

<t>I can play guitar. That is all I can contribute here as the jargon has gone right over my head! I have a Floor Pod Plus, pretty neat bit of kit and some fun can be had with it. If you get anything upband running, let us know as I will certainly try it out. Wifi connected guitar, sounds like fun!<...

Re: Portable Pi, Using iPod Touch

The screen seems to be the biggest problem, and nobody is too sure what will work and what won't.  I was just thinking about a Tom Tom screen, that'd surely be light on power to run?  Not sure on connections though, but it has a touch screen.

WOW! That is a direct copy of this site!  What a cheek, using a charity to rip people off.  Can you still get hung drawn and quartered for that?

I ordered yesterday at around midday and I am still waiting on an email confirmation from Farnell, it is obviously on back order and I have no idea of a possible delivery date.
