Re: Bogus BogoMips?

looks like any overclocking starts after the bogomips measurement, see http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... 66&t=26616. So probably the changes to the kernel which have caused it.

Bogus BogoMips?

I was looking at the details of buying an Mpeg-2 license and how to determine the serial number of the Pi: http://www.raspberrypi.com/vc-1-license-key/ . As well as the serial number, this also lists the measured BogoMips of the device. Trouble is, the foundation's serial #d Raspberry Pi is shown to...

Re: Create an output file in c

thanks for the ctrl d correction. I was scratching my head on that one. Perhaps it was the old DEC VT100's(?) that used z.

Cheers

Re: Create an output file in c

I used to "eat and drink" C and I used a book called "The C Book". I see the good book is now accessible on the web: http://publications.gbdirect.co.uk/c_book/ . I thoroughly recommend it. The "w" in fopen is the mode with which the file is opened, in this case, write mode. If the file doesn't exist...

Re: Raspi-powered seismometer/seismograph

Hi, just spotted this thread. You should have a look at the Public Seismic Network site, http://psn.quake.net/ which is dedicated to home brew seismometers. It's been going for decades and even has Dr Lehman posting from time to time. There's a wealth of information there on all aspects. For local q...

e2image usage

I've tried to use e2image to back up the sd card to no avail and wonder if anyone can tell me where I'm going wrong.

Using: sudo e2image /dev/mmcblk0 /media/myusbdisk/myimage

I get:

Bad magic number in super-block while trying to open /dev/mmcblk0

Any ideas?

TIA

here's my Lego tower case: http://www.iasmith.com/images/mypi.jpg It consists of a wireless keyboard/mouse receiver, WD 250 Gbyte portable disk, a 4 port powered D-Link hub and the RP down below. The usb hub powers the RP as well as everything else. Here's a link to a larger version: http://www.iasm...

<t>I hope that SaabFAN isn't planning on building anything safety critical with the Raspberry Pi.  I assume those expensive commercial devices are backed up with extensive testing of the hardware and software and, ultimately, a good indemnity insurance policy...<br/> <br/> Even the failure of the HD...

Re: Launch party?

by all means have a launch party but please don't reduce the number of boards available online by selling them at the launch.  Living some 400 miles north of the raspberry pip, I'd hate to have to travel down just to pick up a board.

<t>B if I can get one.  The extra memory, usb port and ethernet make it a no brainer.<br/> <br/> I would have thought that for the present, it would be better to put the limited manufacturing resources into just making B models.<br/> <br/> Also, the danger of producing an A model is that school bean...
