Re: PLC and Raspberry PI 3 B

Hi, correct me if I'm wrong. the first request was - share symbols / or data between the CODESYS plc and the PI ( both are running on the same PI?!) So there is no additional OPC server needed only either OPC UA or shared memory. The OPC UA server is embedded in the CODESYS plc runtime and is theref...

Re: PLC and Raspberry PI 3 B

Hi, you mean you you want to share data between the CODESYS plc and some other applications which are running on the PI? OPCUA is not a bad option do do this. You could use a python client to access the symbols in the CODESYS plc. For me VNC running on the PI is a good option to do the HMI stuff fro...

Re: Industrial CNC status alert project - help!

Hi, you could use CODESYS on Raspberry PI, connect your 24 signals to an IO fieldbus connected( for example Ethercat to have it easy) For example EK1100 / EL1008 Beckhoff Ethercat terminals. Give either email or send pushover telegram to your mobile phone if a machine has a problem which need to be ...

Re: Software to control a watering system

Hi, you could use CODESYS (plc on the PI) and for example a PiFace and control your pumps with that. Sure Visualisation by Android phone /IPhone is possible with that too. How to start: https://faq.codesys.com/display/CDSFAQ/Raspberry+-+FAQ This is just one of many options you have another would be ...

Re: profibus on Raspberry pi

Hi, you could use the LCD with either webvisu, means add all to the CODESYS visualisation (is more easy , you have only one part to maintain) or use for example a OPCUA Client in your application to access the plc symbols: For doing this there is an example available here: https://forum.codesys.com/...

Re: profibus on Raspberry pi

no pc is needed... you could control everthing from PI.
PC is only needed to do the application once - download it to the PI and then everything is running on the PI.
You could connect a mobilephone to push buttons or use Raspberry PI LCD and do the hmi on this..

Re: profibus on Raspberry pi

Hi,
it does but you need additional hardware:
You Need to use ethercat with EK1100 coupler and EL6731 - profibus master and profibus slave is possible
to use.
So Pi could finally act as profibus master or profibus slave that way.

Hi, you could use: CODESYS on the Pi: https://faq.codesys.com/display/CDSFAQ/Raspberry+-+FAQ this make a full featured profinet controller or profinet device out of your Pi. Even scan the pn devices which are connected on the network is possible. See here a CODESYS Project example with two Pi's one ...

Hi, I would install the CODESYS plc on the Pi and harvest all these data from the other plc's. Many protcols are possible to connect the plc's Ethercat Modbus Profinet Ethercat OPCUA and many more from my point of view this would be the easies way to realize this. Here is the faq how to do install i...

Hi, sure you could use any Beckhoff Analog Input terminal (or any other manufacturer of this industrial slave devices) for doing this. So you need EK1100 and EL3061 connect them to the Ethercat Master, that's it. See the faq how to start with this: https://faq.codesys.com/display/CDSFAQ/Raspberry+-+...

Hi, I would recommend to use CODESYS control on Raspberry Pi. (back in the plc world combined with the Pi world) You have probably direct connection via profinet or ethercat to the Robot?! Hi,
an example how to access the plc variables by a OPCUA Client written in python.
(Either running on the same Pi as the plc or running on an remote Pi, both is possible)

Re: Home temperature monitoring

Hi,
for me a good option was to use the ruuvi tags (https://tag.ruuvi.com/)
temp/huminity collecting via bluetooth on Pi Zero W.
Main benefit is:
No wiring needed ;)
There is a python lib available to read them.

there is a new release of CODESYS on Raspberry PI (3.5SP12)
available which support now the wonderful sense hat too.

And check the example how to access by phython the variables in the plc

Sure this could even be the home not only the small model like in this Clip ;-) Merr...
