40 pin breakout

This may appear to be a silly question but can I open up the "blind" hole on an IDE cable and use it as a GPIO extender for the Raspberry Pi?

It is, after all, 40 pins as well.

Cheers

Re: Setting up HDMI output when video output isn't what you

Hi There,

I have a B+ that's baffling me. No output on the HDMI screen. However I can putty into it.
I've tried the same OS card in a B and it works.

Any thought would be greatly appreciated.

Sonic Pi - Load saved files

Hi there, this may be in the wrong place and it may be a bit of a simple question but how do you load a saved Sonic Pi file?

How Long should it take?

Hi There,

I'm using a Mac Mini to create a class set of Raspbian images. I'm using 16Gb Lexar SDHC cards and they're taking about 12 hours to completely write - that can't be right can it?

Cheers

Setting up a RasPi Repository

Apologies if this is in the wrong section but is it possible to set up a local repository server?

In other words cache all the download files people may need so that they don't need to go external when they do an apt-get

Cheers

Re: Raspberry Pi B+ with AdaFruit Screen

OK I have found it to be erroring when loading the driver software so I've done a full install from scratch using the Raspbian B+ image from here: https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-pit ... sy-install

Thanks for all help

Hi there, thanks for the replies.

I have installed the software as per - https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-pit ... sy-install

The model is a 1601B.

I've reinstalled the s/w just incase but still white screen.

Any ideas?

Raspberry Pi B+ with AdaFruit Screen

Hi there, I have a, hopefully, small issue with the B+ and AdaFruit screen which I'm sure others have as well. The screen's socket is shorter than the GPIO pins. Looking at photos on web I cannot find exactly where to start - judging by the comment of the 5mm overhang I'm assuming I connect the scre...

Using a Powered USB Hub

OK this may have been answered but I couldn't find it anywhere. I've just bought a powered hub. Can I connect the HUB to the RasPi for both power and data? It seems odd connecting the same device to both ends, if that makes sense. I don't want to break either the RasPi or the hub by doing so. Cheers...

Re: The South Yorkshire Pi Group

Ooops - missed the chat yesterday. I live in Sheffield and have (finally) got my Pi.

I'd be interested in a Sheffield based group or possibly Huddersfield as I work there.
