RasPi web memory

I use a Raspberry 3B as my desktop now - much quieter than the PC (which I still use for Skype). I've found I have to have the task manager up when web browsing (in Chromium) to keep an eye on available memory. Swapping memory freezes the machine. So, I have 1GB total. Chromium is running with a cou...

Re: Farnell VS RS delivery times

Had delayed ordering with long lead times as I am moving soon. I had considered RS because their original T&C had said they wouldn't spam my details, whereas Farnell originally said they would. RS said 17 weeks. Farnell said 3 weeks so I read their latest T&C which implied an opt-out on the spam and...

Re: What started you off?

I've forgotten more machines than I remember.

Which means I've got a very long list,

Or a very short memory.

I've still got my dad's Curta II mechanical pocket calculator.

You have to program your brain to use it.

Re: GPGPU on the R-PI.

Never mind performance. If we cannot use the GPU at all, we'll have to build an OpenCL which uses a simulated GPU. The important thing is to be able to learn to do heterogenous parallel programming.

Quite impressive really to get 200k pre-registrations.

I wonder how many Farnell got?

No interest from here - I didn't want to allow them to spam me. RS said my email use would be restricted so they got my registration.
