Re: Pi4 desktop overfills screens

You genius. Uncommented the line

Code: Select all

#hdmi_drive=2
and changed the 2 for 1.

Thank you. Knew the answer would be easy but hadn't found it.

Pi4 desktop overfills screens

I'm just starting with the Pi4 but so far having trouble getting the desktop correct. I've used two different TV to try this that work just fine with all the other Pi I have. No matter what I do in the boot/config.txt the panel at the top is half off the screen and the Raspberry Menu icon is not vis...

Forum Search Missing?

Hi I wanted to search the forum about using Circuit Python in the Pi as I'm having problems with the installation. But Now I have a new problem. Where has the search facility gone form the Pi Forums? The main search produces no forum results for me and I'm sure there used to be a separate search fac...

Re: Install Mu Editor on Stretch

Might have solved the running problem. But not the icon problem.

Instructions here:

https://support.microbit.org/support/so ... spberry-pi

Still could really need the icon in the start menu though.

Re: Install Mu Editor on Stretch

Thanks for trying. That is the first way I tried. If I redo the command it recognises the install but appears to provide no way of actually starting Mu. Even the Adafruit method I mentioned fails to work after reboooting.

Install Mu Editor on Stretch

Hi, I have 20 Pi-Tops that need the Mu Editor installed on. I've have managed to do it before where a nice Mu icon appears under programming menu. Easy for everyone to find. But now I just can't seem to achieve this on a newly flashed SD card. Adafruit has the best install instructions on their site...

Trouble getting BlueDot to connect

Hi, I'm trying to get my Android Phone to Connect with a Pi3 via BlueDot. Following the get started instructions it just isn't playing ball. I don't get the final part about typing in the PIN on the Pi3 or mobile. And when I try and connect the BlueDot app it fails. Anyone any ideas? I've tried unpa...

Hi Again

The fault is the resolution. I just tried maxing it to 3264 x 2448 without any problem.

Problem solved.

Re: PiCamera Crashes Pi B

Hi Yesterday I tried using the Raspistill method in the command line. I hadn't done this before as it doesn't come up very high in search results. And of course the Pi website should, in my view, have the best answers. That operates the camera without crashes or anything. So it can't be the power su...

Hi Dougie,

Thanks for the comment but the supply is the official Raspberry Pi one. Surely it has to work with that?

Hi all Just received a Pi Camera for the first time to use with my Code Club Pi B's. It's all official stock. Just trying it out with the current Pixel system and an official 2amp power supply. Hi, I've got a Pi3 running Alexa without too many difficulties. It does throw errors occasionally but it's a bit of fun. Has anyone got the flash briefings to work so that the News works? I've used the app on my phone and also through the alexa.amazon.com website. All are switched on but Alexa says ...

Re: Scratch, Join and PWM LED

Solved it.

When you place a new Join block it has Hello World in the two spaces already. The first on has the Hello in but it is actually Hello+Space. It was the empty Space that was causing the problem.

gpio22pwm variable is not the same as gpiopwmvariable. Now it works.

Now back to the coding.

Scratch, Join and PWM LED

Hi, I've just got hold of a string of RGB LED (not the addressable type, yet). I'm programming them in Scratch with MOSFETs etc. All working fine. I can turn individual colours on and off and using for example: broadcast - ( gpio24pwm50 ) I can switch on the LED attached to pin 24 to 50%. Changing t...

Re: PiZero not booting.

Hi All,

The answer is :

It does need a completely fresh install of NOOBS.

Or it did in my case. As soon as I powered up a small LED lit up which wasn't before. Jesse installing right now.

Very happy coder now.

Re: PiZero not booting.

Hi Thanks for the reply. Yes, the cards do work in other Pis. I run a Code Club in Cornwall so writing the cards is not a problem. PiZero not booting.

Hi, So excited to get my hands on the PiZero. But mine will not boot. It's not the power supply as the red light on the mouse works. It's not the HDMI lead as that works on a tablet. So the only thing is, is it faulty or the OS. Does it have to have a clean install from NOOBS? I've tried two micro S...

Re: School Monitor Blurry Image

Your monitor may not be sending EDID info, so the Pi may be using a resolution that does not match the monitors native resolution - which can cause "blur" Find out the native resolution of the monitor, and force that mode. Note: NTSC (single RCA) will ALWAYS look blurry, can't do anything about tha...

School Monitor Blurry Image

Hi, We are using the RPi in a primary school Code Club. One has a problem with the image on the screen. We are using old monitors with HDMI to RCA adapters (I hope that is the right term). The image on the problem Pi seems to break the lines up slightly. And when you move the mouse it gets worse the...
