Re: L298N Motor driver help

It's this one exactly. Well not that specific one, but you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Re: L298N Motor driver help

Yeah I'm looking something like this video for RPi.. and maybe with python logic for two motors. I have code for one motor which I essentially duplicated, but I can't seem to turn two motors on at the same time. The L298N seems to be blocking it from starting them both up. Actually I thought I didn'...

Sorry motor driver board. This one but red.

I'm completely new to all this, so excuse my lack of knowledge. I didn't even know there was a chip version.

Re: L298N Motor driver help

I've seen many posts about the L298N, and I'm probably in the same boat as a lot of people. Is there no way to use the RPi to control two motors off this chip? If it's recommended to use a different chip, then some recommendations/instructions would be great. However if there is a way, I'd like to k...

Re: USB TTL cable

Let's try a different way. I would rather trust an identifiable company like Adafruit with a proven track record of working with the Raspberry Pi community in preference to an 'anonymous' ebay dealer named "alicexxx" who does not seem to understand the difference between rs232 and ttl. The time to ...

Re: USB TTL cable

Thanks Mahjongg, That was probably more technical than I could understand. What I think you're saying, is that even something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/FT232RL-Serial-adapter-Module-USB-to-TTL-3-3V-5V-Mini-USB-TO-TTL-for-Arduino-/301123051845?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item461c552145 wouldn'...

I'm having a hard time deciphering if these are the same. AllJoyn

Any RPiers looking into AllJoyn and RPi? Seem like they would be a perfect fit.

Re: Mathematica download?

Awesome, for some reason apt-get fails after a long while, I'm going to curl it. How do you do that? On my Pi, it said memory was low and aborted the install (I use an 8gb SD card with only a few python programs and RPi.GPIO and Numpy installed) This command sticks the file in your local filesystem...

Hmm, never mind. it really was a path problem. So I guess lesson learned, make sure you fully qualify everything!
But cool, now I have my contraption working!

I tried to use this in /etc/rc.local, but it still dies:

Re: /etc/rc.local

I have the same issue, not sure what's going on. I don't see either the /etc/rc.local or /etc/init.d/rc.local running.
I feel that this is important as most hackers would like to get a module running without a keyboard/monitory.

Re: Log in as root - debian

User pi seems to be getting a lot of power in those last few commands. If you logged out at the wrong step, I can see how you'd be locked out.

Try this one.

use a usb camera
but your best bet would be to have 1RPi / camera
Anyone remember this?

It would be a cool project, but fitting 10 RPis in a ball might require a catapult to launch.
