Works perfect. The graphics.py code is strongly recommended.

Make library unit for Python

I have a graphic library, graphics.py by John Zelle, which works perfect on Windows.
The source code is there placed in folder \python27\lib.

It uses TKINTER in a separate window, and does not interfere with idle.
Where do I place the code in order to import it on my RPi 3?

Re: Jessie Q&A

Synaptic requests a Password when started. pi does not work.
I downloaded Jessie yesterday and put it onto fresh cards.
Then I installed synaptic using apt-get as usual.

When started it requests a root password.

HELP!

Actually in America we speak northern or Southern. Basically it is a modified or downgraded version (you choose) of the language. This reminds me of something: A rep from Texas told me she was at DAC (design automation conference), sitting with a German and an Italian. The Italian and the German we...

Re: Do I have a bad SD Card?

The SD card I bought together with a PI 2 did exactly as your SD card.
I then bought another 16GB SD card (Kingston) and it worked perfect.
The first SD card worked perfectly in my PI 1B, so there seems to be
some issue with some SD cards and PI 2.

The Enigma simulator in TheMagpie was a simplified version. Inspired by the article I wrote a new version using three wheels and the reflector. Re: Red and Green led glows continously in raspberry pi 2

It seems that there can be problem with SD-card. When I tried the first time to boot on my new Pi 2 the Pi refused to boot. I had no problems booting my Pi B with the same image. The Pi 2 booted now and then. I bought a new SD card, this time Kingston, and it does boot every time. Torbjörn Alm, Sweden

open text file refuses to open

I have moved a couple of Python programs 2.7 from Windows to RPI. They work perfectly well in Windows. When I try to run a program, it bombs at: infile=open('myfile.dat','r') The file is located in the same directory as the program and this directory is displayed if I try sys.path[0]. I just get err...

Re: Pi 2 stopped booting

I had the same experience too. I then tried the SD card on my B, and it worked perfect. I used the RASPIAN image and expanded the disc at first boot. I then downloaded synaptic and a couple of program. Then I moved to my PI 2. After a couple of tries it booted, and worked perfectly. Some hours later...

Re: kernel panic on 2015-01-31 raspian model B

I did not reseat the SD card. Instead I downloaded the raspian .img file, reformatted my micro SD card and moved the image onto the card. It booted flawlessly, and I could download synaptic and the a couple of programs. Now I only have to find a way to change the keyboard to Swedish layout. Torbjörn...

Re: Fresh install using Noobs 1.3.12 fails on model B.

I had a similar BAD experience with my new Pi 2. The OS selection screen comes up and I select raspian. I also have selected Swedish keyboard (se). The copying of files etc. seems to go well, but the system reboots, errors come in zillions. Finally a sort of memo dump is displayed, followed by unrec...

Re: kernel panic on 2015-01-31 raspian model B

I tried my new RPI 2 using the latest version NOOBS 1.3.12 of 2015-02-02. Kernel panic! Ended up with a stack dump and dropped dead. I then tried the lite version, just downloaded from RPI. It first fixed ext4 partition etc. Then I got THIS: Error downloading or extracting tarball wget: unable to re...

Unless running speed is number one, start with Python. The learning curve for c++ is SOOO much steeper than for Python. I have been a programmer for 50 years and I have done programming in assembler, Fortran, Cobol, C, Pascal, Python.... Python was easy to get into as it is a script language, It is ...

The Wolfram engine is a very large and complex program. capable to do very advanced math. It has been developed during many years. Put the drive in a SATA docking station, which is connected to th W 7 system via USB.
Then the disk is regarded as a Local drive and can be defragged.

Re: HELP: Writing a program to read Linux partition from Win

There is one commercial program, which saved my day when my NAS server went to a grinding halt.
It is R-STUDIO. This program can read almost any disk in any format, Linux, MAC ...
I also was able to recover a Windows dynamic disk when I upgraded a system.
