Out of memory when linking shader (legacy driver)

I am getting an error when running a 3D scene for Godot 3.2-alpha2 using the legacy driver (on a Raspberry Pi 3B+). The vc4 driver is running it fine. Here is the error: > SceneShaderGLES2: Program linking failed: > ERROR:CUSTOM-6 (fragment shader, line -1) Out of memory I guess my question is: Is t...

Re: Godot 2.1 binary repository

I was wondering if anyone could test this on a Raspberry Pi 4. In theory it should work, but you never know. Also, can I ask the moderators if they can move this post (thread) to the "General programming discussion" forum? I originally posted it there, but it was moved here. While these packages can...

Godot 2.1 binary repository

First of all, if you don't know anything about Godot, it is a full 2D/3D game engine and it comes with an editor where you can develop games interactively. The official latest version is Godot 3.1.1, with Godot 3.2 currently in feature freeze mode and a Godot 4.0 already in development. You can comp...

libEGL warning: DRI2: failed to authenticate It looks like it could be an authorization issue. You mention that you are using VisualGDB. I am not familiar with it, but if it starts the executable remotely, this might be the problem. Have you tried running the generated executable locally? By that I...

Re: V3D/VC4 detection and legacy driver.

6by9 : You'll have both "v3d" and "vc4" loaded. Thanks, it should work as it is then, since I already detect "vc4" (but I might add "v3d" too for future-proofing it, just in case in the future vc4 won't be needed any more on the Pi4). jamesh : You should be able to run both the Pi3 and Pi4 in eithe...

V3D/VC4 detection and legacy driver.

Congratulations for the new Raspberry Pi 4. I don't expect to get mine for a little bit yet. Basically, I am waiting to be able to buy the model I want (most likely the 4GB version) on amazon at standard price. Off-topic: based on previous experience, anyone knows when that is likely to happen (in I...

Re: godot engine 2.1 runtime

I've just released another version. Beside the support for joysticks that was already added as a quick patch a while ago, and some small improvements to the x11/vc4 code, the main features of this version are: Partial /experimental support for Godot 3.0. Basically, 2D games without particles and cus...

Re: godot engine 2.1 runtime

I 've just released a new version. As anticipated, this version comes without openssl support. Beside recompiling against godot 2.1.4-stable , the main change is the initial / experimental support for the vc4 driver. Each binary should now work on both jessie and stretch and with both the classic an...

Re: raspberry gamemaking

I am writing a godot "platform" targeting the Raspberry Pi (https://github.com/efornara/frt), and exporting should work. I've tested it myself a couple of weeks ago, but if anyone else can reproduce what I did, it would be great. Basically: Take the latest stable version of godot (2.1.3-stable): an ...

Re: godot engine 2.1 runtime

I 've just released a new version. Some (partial) fixes with mouse / keyboard handling. Also, added a way to dump performance data to a CSV file for later analysis. Due to the expected raspbian switch to stretch, this is likely to be the last version for a while to come with openssl support included...

Re: godot engine 2.1 runtime

Just a quick update. I did end up getting a Raspberry Pi 2, and it makes a few games playable out of the box. For example, these two, both quite polished, get a solid 60 FPS on a Pi 2: https://github.com/FEDE0D/Planet-Rider https://github.com/janmarcano/Dolphin-Island-2 Not 60 FPS, but still very pl...

godot engine runtime

I've just published the source of my "platform" for the godot game engine. I've already posted a preview in the General discussion forum, but I got no feedback. Maybe nobody is interested, but maybe it was the wrong forum, so I post the update here. I'd really appreciate feedback from owners of Pi 2...

Re: use Windows to download Raspian Jessie packages

AFAIK, raspbian is tracking jessie (stable), so you might be lucky and nothing has changed since then, but, yes, if you don't update first you might encounter problems. For "apt-get update", I usually used my phone. I didn't want to use it for the downloading of the actual packages as these can beco...

Re: use Windows to download Raspian Jessie packages

I had the same problem a few years ago. At that time, I used apt-offline and it worked very well. It was two trips to the library: 1) apt-get update 2) apt-get upgrade (+ apt-get install). In each case, I was getting a list of URLs that I post-processed to generate a CMD with a list of wgets. Each t...

godot 2.1.2 runtime - experimental build

Godot is an open source game engine, and I am porting its runtime to run on the Raspberry Pi. I target the firmware libraries directly, so it runs on raspbian lite too (i.e. without X11 installed). This is just an early preview. Code coming soon. Instructions: 1) Make sure that you have increased th...
