Re: SSH Connection Disconnected after apt-get upgrade

I agree with installing Screen as one of the first things to do on an install. Makes everything else so much easier afterwards. :)

The other alternative is, if at all possible, attach a KVM set to the Pi and do the upgrade from there.

Re: 256 MB SD card usable for RaspberryPI?

The other way (Which I used to do it on a 64mb MicroSD) is to use BerryBoot and tell it to install onto a spare USB stick. Bear in mind that you'll need a USB stick at least 2GB in size, preferably bigger. You could also set it up with a USB hub and add an external drive to that, giving you a phenom...

Re: Power switch now available for Pi

Any chance of Aus getting a look in? Even if it's just an individual parts list with PCB designs that we can make our own. I'd love to make one that runs under a Missile style toggle switch, just mounted on a board somewhere remotely. (And I might put a small label on it with the word "Detonator Arm...

Re: Cooling Ram + CPU

At the moment, my Pi's are "naked" but I'm looking at mounting a heatsink on the one I'm going to use as a weather-proof temp/pressure/humidity station.

I think the inside of a steel case would become uncomfortably roasty in the middle of an Aussie summer.

Re: Berryboot v1.1 - Boot menu / OS installer

Just a FYI from me. I've managed to get my Pi booting from a 512mb SD card, courtesy of the "install to USB" function in Berryboot. Right now, only /boot is sitting on the SD card, with the / partition sitting on an 8Gb USB stick. This would be of some help to those with some low capacity SD cards t...

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hi everyone. I'm Gary, AKA Psychaotix, a 25 year old lad who lives in the wonderful Barossa Valley, South Australia. So far, I've been just playing with the Pi to see how it goes (Not to mention demo-ing it to my workmates who are decidedly impressed that a full computer can be crammed into somethin...

Re: Connecting RPi directly to PC ethernet port

I know it's not exactly the same as Linux, but Windows XP and higher has the facility to bridge network connections together. This is how I temporarily run my fileserver when I need to get an important file off of it. If the OP has a working WiFi connection to the Internet Router, then there might b...
