You could add

into your a start up script. This would would cause the pi to wait 15 secs.

sudo apt-get install joe This will get you the jstar editor. It is a super easy text editor. I had a tough time picking up vi when I first started using linux (Slackware 3.0) and jstar saved me a ton of headaches. jstar <filename> This will bring up the file.
