stepper motor coupling

I have a stepper motor with a 5mm shaft that I would like to connect to a shaft that measures 6.3mm. The couplers that I have found are either 5mm to 5mm or 5mm to 8mm. So does it work to tighten down an 8mm to the 6.3mm shaft or will that put it off center to much. I was thinking that I could also ...

Re: Photo booth with DSLR

There are many examples of photobooths around. Here is one that has the two features, button and count down, that you asked about. http://failtryagain.com/2016/08/13/photo-booth/ You should be able to copy those segments into your program. Here is another more complete, complex, example. It uses gph...

This link gives an example of how to use Google Photos:

There are other examples around using other sites. Google is your friend.

Re: Screen problem

You say that it is HDMI connected. So you can eliminate possible pi issues by connecting some other "good" HDMI source such as video. If another source shows the same issues than it is most likely the controller board setup.

Re: Photo Booth Help

Glad it worked, the pictures look good. I noticed that you did not customize the background word. Perhaps that is a process that we still need to work on.

If your pi is getting hot you might also look into getting heat sinks for it.

I have modified the code to allow both keyboard and button. Use the same download link to get the new code.
I did not test it yet but was "simple". Let me know if it works for you.

Re: Photo Booth Help

The power switch button should fit right on pins 9 & 11 of the GPIO header. Eariler in this topic I posted a link to the GPIO header pinout. That will show you where. The light is a different issue. It depends on just what it is as to how you could power it. The GPIO pins do not provide a lot of pow...

Re: Photo Booth Help

This part of the error message,
File "/home/pi/Downloads/PiPhotoBooth2 (1).py",
Looks like you are running the program from the Downloads directory.
Remember that the program requires an image directory and the blank.jpg be in the same directory as the program.

Re: Photo Booth Help

The use of spaces vs tabs is a problem of using different editors.
Download again and retry.

When you get a button setup are you going to want to switch to just using the button or will you want the program to use both button and keyboard?

Re: Photo Booth Help

OK, well you did put it in the wrong place and because the forum did not use my code tags you also lost indentation.
But I think that we got it now. Try to get it from this link.

Re: Photo Booth Help

OK, that picture looks more like what I expected. However it is interesting that you went that big but did not go for the max. That picture is 3180 pixels wide. You should be able to go to 3280. 3280 x 2464 is the 4:3 aspect ratio. The text probably looks small because you have the picture so large ...

The single picture, image3, you posted is 466 x 369 pixels. Is that what you set the camera to? Or did you change it to post it?

Above I said to To do that, at the start of the program after the line input_state = True insert the following lines putting numbers in for width and height: camera.sensor_mode=2 camera.resolution = ( width, height) You got an error because that was the wrong place. They should be inserted ("put") a...

Re: Photo Booth Help

What did you try for width and height? Try putting the camera statements after the with picamera.PiCamera() as camera: statement. They should be indented to be directly above the while True: statement. Then the object camera should be known. To change the aspect on the combined images image, in the ...

Re: Photo Booth Help

One can control the camera capture size by using the resolution attribute. If you have a v1 camera the max is 2592x1944. if you have av2 camera the max is 3280x2464. Both are a 4:3 aspect. To do that, at the start of the program after the line input_state = True insert the following lines putting nu...

Re: Photo Booth Help

I am not a graphics artist but as I understand it DPI is a printer thing. The camera collects pixels. One gives the camera a width and height in pixels to capture. The screen as an output device typically shows 72 pixels in an inch or 72 DPI. A printer can put many more pixels into an inch. The typi...

Re: Photo Booth Help

I thought that we would get to the aspect and quality issues. The aspect looks off because the program has not given any parameters for width or height of a picture. The camera is using some default. However the combined photo is setting each picture to 177 x 140. So if 177:140 is not the same ratio...
