Re: Rocket Payload

The Raspberry Pi may be a possible payload for a rocket built by the rocket club at my university. Does anyone know of any USB accelerometer, GPS, altimeter, etc. combinations that are low cost or open source?

Re: POE?

Since the model B has an Ethernet port, will it support power over Ethernet. For those of us that would like to use the r. pi in some creative projects, it would be nice to only have to feed it one cable for power and networking.

Re: Memory expandability?

<t>OK back to why it wont work. If you are saying that after you put a RAM IC on the board it can't be changed? I was thinking that there could be a socket on the board that the memory fit into so it could be easily changed out for a larger capacity chip.<br/> <br/> I had thought of swap(Linux virtu...

Re: Memory expandability?

<t>Would it be possible to provide an expansion slot/socket for RAM? You could sell memory expansion cards or make them an open design so people with the know how can make their own cards.<br/> <br/> Depending on the slot type chosen this should have a small footprint and low cost to add.<br/> <br/>...

Re: If you could order now..

One model B for now. I will probably buy more later though as long as they stay close to the target price range.

Clustering these would be nice if the price stays down.

Re: What have we missed?

<t>I don't know if this should be a standard feature or an optional one, but I would add at least one PS2 port for a keyboard/mouse.<br/> <br/> Maybe a faster external storage option(eSATA or USB 3.0) or would that drive the price up too much?<br/> <br/> What kind of power jack Is used on the device...
