Re: Desktop now asks for Password on power up and does not accept it

I tried "df -h" and it gave me an error, I could see the boot partition but not the second, so something has been corrupted. So I have cloned another opencv image and re-installed the software, which was actually beneficial because it has forced me to document the steps! Thanks for suggestions Steve

Re: Pyserial - 'device reports readiness to read but returned no data '

Thanks for replies, yes I have enabled serial port and disabled console.

I will see what I can do trap the error and restart the script, at the moment it seems to lock up.

Re: Pi Zero not being read by USB on Debian with RPI Desktop install

I had a similar problem and came to the conclusion it was because my laptop had USB 1 and not USB 2.

I booted from the same DVD on a laptop with USB 2 and it worked first time, it never worked on my laptop with USB 1

Hi, Background. Using latest raspbian and have created a Python data logging script that runs on power up using system to etc. On power up it looks to see if a USB drive is mounted by checking to see if /media/PI has a sub folder. Reboot or sudo reboot?

Hi, Ever since I have had a raspberry PI and using raspbian, from a terminal window I have always typed sudo reboot. Just found out that you only have to type reboot, shutdown you always need sudo in front. Out of interest, has this always been the case or has it changed in one of the releases? Steve

Re: Raspberrypi.org/ push button animation - problem with om

Just sorted it, not enough frames!

created an animation with 20 frames and it worked.

I found a post on the internet where some one said they had problems because omxplayer was too quick, their mp4 file was too short.

with 20 frames it worked a treat.
