Hi I'm looking for some help with the following : I have an Arduino and also a RaspberryPi which I would like to use to interface with my old TV ghettoblaster which uses the old 'TV aerial' socket. I have done numerous searches (for tutorials etc) and all I come up with is examples of interfacing vi...

Re: SSH - cannot start the session (PC-to-PI)

hmmm ..when I connect the PI directly via cat5 cable it loses it's IP address (can't link screen shot as this means I don't have an IP to SSH to) and while I have it (RPI) connect to the router it reassumes its old (192.168.1.101) one. I think I need to reread those tutorials I'm sure I read somewhe...

Re: SSH - cannot start the session (PC-to-PI)

I just thought I would give an update: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XQ7av2PjSLo/UPOxSTE3uBI/AAAAAAAAAN8/QQ9nIMrCcr8/s1600/rpi+ty.jpg This is a screen capture from my laptop, as you can see I'm now able to log in to the PI board via my router's wifi (the LAN one not the WAN/outside-connection router) so...

Re: SSH - cannot start the session (PC-to-PI)

127.0.0.1 will be your localhost loopback network. If you have a look at the output of ifconfig, it should fall under "lo" lo Link encap Local Loopback inet addr 127.0.0.1 Bcast [NONE SET] Mask 255.0.0.0 UP BROADCAST LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU 2000 Metric 1 RX packets 0 errors 0 dropped 0 overrun 0 TX pa...

Re: SSH - cannot start the session (PC-to-PI)

The RPi has an auto-sensing ethernet socket so will work with either a straight cable or a crossed one. Amazing! I did not know that, the cable that connects the RPI to the rouer is excessivly long for the purpose (being that the RPI is places right next to the router) so atleast I don't have to wo...

Re: SSH - cannot start the session (PC-to-PI)

127.0.0.1 should not work it would indicate the Pi cannot reach the DHCP server and gives itself that address. On your Vista machine Click - Start - Run - Type cmd and hit Enter type IP Config your Pi should have an IP in the same range as you Vista Machine 192.168.x.x is a typical starting. You al...

Re: Portable lab for musicians

I think GBulmer hit the nail on the head their... Personaly I'm not too familiar with linux but I do know about audio processing, The PI is comparable to the Xbox1 and I've seen an XBOX1 happily run Reason2, Rebirth and a few other software studios without a single lag, pop or crackle. If you find s...

Re: Csound music making

Hi, I'm unable to offer any assistance with this at the moment but I am intending to experiment with CSound on my new PI. I was wondering if you could tell me which linux have installed on your PI, also are you coding to Csound directly on the PI or writting the code on a PC or mac then transfering ...
