Re: IPtables help

I checked my /etc/sysctl.conf and I already had forwarding enabled, so that's not the problem.

IPtables help

Hello everybody! I'm in desperate need of some iptables help - this problem has had me stumped for hours. The situation is as follows: https://i.imgur.com/7g8CztB.png I have a raspberry pi that is connected to the network using the onboard ethernet and an additonal USB ethernet adapter. This USB eth...

rtorrent found bad chunks

Hey everyone, I have some problems with rtorrent. In the past it worked great, but lately new downloads will give me the error "Hash check on download completion found bad chunks, consider using "safe_sync".". I have two drives (one for the root fs, one just for downloads) both using ext4. I checked...

Chrooting screen & rtorrent

Hey everyone, Since the raspberry pi uses so little power, I figured I'd be ideal for seeding some torrents like linux distro's and the like. I decided to use rtorrent as it is quite lightweight and feature complete. I want to run rtorrent as a daemon (so I need screen or tmux) and also wish to chro...

Re: Samba Performance

The configurations don't seem to differ that much, although I am by no mean an expert (very much not so in fact). I can only imagine it is due to the drive performance, or the amount of attached USB devices.

Re: Samba Performance

I'm unable to duplicate these performance figures. The best I can get is around 6.0-6.5 MB/s write speeds. Perhaps it's because you are using a different drive with lower performance? Or perhaps it's the config file. Can you test how fast the drive is by making an empty file using dd? And can you p...

Redirect traffic using openvpn

Hello everyone, I want to run a VPN server on the pi, to be able to redirect all trafic through the VPN, so I can surf safely on an unsecured network. I got the VPN up and running and it seems a connection is made, but I am unable to connect to the internet or any other machine. I read through the o...

Re: MS Arc wireless keyboard

I googled around a bit and found this review on lifehacker: http://gizmodo.com/5459763/microsoft-arc-keyboard-review It mentions: "Hard to type on for long periods of time: keys have weird sensitivities and the arrow key is hard to use", so perhaps it's not a software problem. Best thing to do is pr...

Re: keyboard??

No, you'll need to get a keyboard. It might be possible to configure the pi to use an android as keyboard, but setting it up would require a keyboard itself.

After a quick google, I think you can download them at http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/p ... cher-misc/ but I don't know how to install them. Perhaps this can help you: http://wiki.debian.org/Fonts

Re: GParted Help!!!

And don't forget that you cannot resize it on the pi itself, as you cannot resize a mounted drive. I am guessing OP already knew this, but I am posting just in case ;)

Re: Samba Performance

Alright, just finished testing. I tried to measure wireless speed the best I could, but it fluctuated quite a bit. At some points, I had speeds of around 50 - 100 kb/s. So to test the speed, I copied two files when the speed seemed stable. Note that both test were with the raspberry pi overclocked i...

Re: Samba Performance

Hello everyone! First off, I found this thread because I ran into some performance issues with samba myself (turned out to be the wireless). I now have speeds of about 10MB/s and because I read a lot of people are having performance issues, I decided to share as much details about my configuration a...

Re: Differences between stock (3.2.27+) and git (3.2.27) ker

I was just compiling the kernel myself and ran into the same issue and found your post here. I was wondering the exact same thing. I thought about it a bit and the DMA bit somehow sounded familiar. I googled and indeed, it stood for direct memory access. I am guessing this option gives the GPU direc...
