Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

Hi, I like to inform you that there will be a small delay for the new release SqueezePlug 6. The reason for this is that I had some problems with SqueezeLite, a player for SqueezeBox Server (LMS). It took me 2 days to figure it out! The good thing about this is that I learned a lot about internal a...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

I noticed a problem with the Pi streaming music from the USB port into a DAC. There is a noticeable hiss coming from the right channel. As soon as I put my squeezebox touch in my system the hiss went away. I then tired the analog output from the Pi and there was no hiss there either. So, the problem...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=235976#p235976 I may have a simpler question than this thread addresses. So, let me ask this another way. I have noticed that when I get my other Squeezeboxes connected to MSB.com, I can change the name of them on the website. Is that possible with ...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

I do have one question if I go on mysqueezebox.com, I see a squeezelite under my players. Is there any way to change this to another name. Like R-Pi for instance. This is what I changed the name of my Pi to.

It always says that SqueezeLite is Not connected, so that I can not change the name of it.

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

However you should at least try this with your USB DAC running on a Squeezeplug RPi. At the command prompt type: alsamixer Then the F6 key should cycle the on-screen control panel around the available sound devices. Ensure that the volume is not muted on the relevant slider of your DAC. I did try t...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

OK, Thanks; and Thanks for the Link....

I did connect the USB from the Pi into my USB port on the DAC, but there was no sound. I was not to surprised as the Pi FAQ indicates that there is only audio on the 3.5 mm jack and the HDMI connection.

let's try this.

I have a quality DAC that has inputs for a variety of digital connections. USB, SPDIF, Optical.

The Pi has digital audio output on it's HDMI connection. Is there any way to just get the audio from the pi's HDMI output into my DAC?

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

Please take a look here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=230501#p230501 OK, so it appears that you need to buy another piece of hardware to get the USB Dac to work? Am I correct? I already have a quality DAC that has a USB input. Is there anyway to connect the stock Pi to my exist...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

Also, Is there a way to hook the Pi up to a DAC? ....I see that people are doing this, but from what I understand the Pi only has digital output from the HDMI cable?

So what's the trick here?

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

I have my Pi set up and it plays well with Squeezelite. I changed the name of the Pi on LMS to show up as R-Pi --- I noticed that on MSB.com that it still shows up as SqueezeLite..

Not a big deal but is there any way to change this on MSB.com?

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

Speaking of SqueezeLite (which is brilliant btw), is there a way to get it to play radio streams, such as bbc 5 live when using the TuneIn Radio app in LMS? At the moment it just says that the stream is unsupported. I had no trouble using internet radio with the Pi, when I used the favorites on mys...

I don't know the specifics of Pandora as, being in the UK, I just get a page saying something like "Sorry, Pandora is not available in your country". But I do know that many of the services which offer "free" access on PCs do so because they can place adverts within your field of view and hence gen...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

Yes. You don't need LMS - you already have it on another PC. Be aware that the Squeezelite version in Squeezeplug may not be the latest version. Once it's installed then you can control it using one of your Touch players - in Settings, Choose Player. Not the best way to control it, but until you in...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

I do have LMS running on another PC. What I want to do is just use the Pi as another player that is 'seen' by the LMS running on the PC.

So, then do I remove LMS from the Pi and just install Squeezelite ?

Thanks.

Well, after some extensive searching on this forum, I seemed to have found what might be my problem. I was using a brand new 'Class 10' 32 GB card and switched to an old tired slow 2gb Card in my camera and everything worked! This problem has been solved.....I guess I need to find a slow Card, inste...

Looping errors when Booting Pi.....

Just got my Pi today and loaded the SD card with Raspbian “wheezy”. Followed all the directions. Plugged the Pi in and get the Red and Green lights. Pi starts to boot. Get the raspberry on the top of my screen. Get a few Green 'OKs' and then I get a looping series of error messages. The repeating er...
