Re: Questions about implementing C

Wow, thank you all for the quick replies. It'll take some time for me to sort through all, but that Cambridge article looks like it'll be a great start.

-Arch

Edit: In fact, the Cambridge article was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again!

Questions about implementing C

Hello all, I am currently a college student taking a class in C. I purchased a Pi a while back, and I would like to try to implement the (very simple) programs I am writing in class onto the Pi. However, I am having a difficult time figuring out exactly how to do this; I have no programming experien...

Re: Minecraft server - How To

Randrade: go check up on your server; some immature kid ran around posting signs with profanity.

Re: Minecraft server - How To

My apologies to randrade, for I am to blame for some of the signs that appeared around the spawn :D Awesome job, I think I'll drop in from time to time to chat with players/play some. I'll definitely need advice when I try this myself, as I'm new to hosting servers/plugins. -Arch Also, is the nether...

Re: New User OS image issue(?)

Woot! Write Complete!

Thank you so much, you just made my day. Guess 7zip just wasn't capable of doing what it said it could. Good to know :)

Now, time to go and try to turn the Pi on :D

Re: New User OS image issue(?)

This is something I have just culled from a forum - a Win 7 feature I didn't know about - try Start / Control Panel ->Default Programs-> Set Associations (Associate a file with a program). ..And see if that allows you to set "Windows Explorer" as the default opener for .zip files. I'll give that a ...

Re: New User OS image issue(?)

Like I said, this computer is currently having issues... For some reason, the computer won't recognize the program that runs the dvd drive (apparently, the windows signature is not present: still trying to sort that out). So, that won't work :( Looking into the other program now. If I can't get it w...

Re: New User OS image issue(?)

Huh... 7zip was gone, but a program called 'HP Program Assistant' was in its place. Went ahead and deleted it (that was the window that popped up after I downloaded the image; I believe I mentioned it in the first post. Didn't seem to do anything other than recommend me to do an online search for ot...

Re: New User OS image issue(?)

Huh... no option to unzip after the right click (However, it does give me the option to zip the file...odd)

Well, do you know of any good programs to substitute this with? I loved WinRar, but my trial period expired... :(

Re: New User OS image issue(?)

The reason I downloaded 7zip was because I didn't know windows could unzip files... mainly because I've never seen a feature for it anywhere. Where do I go to find it? (I assumed I missed it hiding somewhere in the properties)

Re: New User OS image issue(?)

Well, I think you both are right to erase 7zip. I checked the file size, and all of my files are 434 MB (In my troubleshooting attempts prior to entering this forum, I downloaded the file from the torrent and the direct download several times in case that was the problem). I'm going to erase it next...

Re: New User OS image issue(?)

In Windows Explorer or My Computer, navigate your way to where the Wheezy_Raspbian...(etc) .zip file is and single right click on it. In the box that appears, choose 'Extract all' or similar. By default, the file will probably be extracted to a folder which has the same name as the .zip file. Look ...

Re: New User OS image issue(?)

Actually, the more information the better: Thank you :)

I am going to try to write the image to your instructions, but I won't be able to try it until later tonight.

All of the information you are providing is invaluable to me, so thanks again!

Re: New User OS image issue(?)

Unfortunately, that didn't fix it. When I exit out of the screen, it does open up win32 but it still won't let me find the image I was looking for. Are you suggesting that the problem is unrelated to the error message?

New User OS image issue(?)

Just got my Pi in the mail today, and like many, I am excited Anyways, read the beginner instructions on the main websight, and ran into a problem. My forum/internet searches haven't yielded results, so I'm turning to any master willing to give advice. Right now, I'm running into issues loading an O...
