.NET Core SQL bug

Hi, I'm using .Net core on raspberry pi 3+/4. Using raspbian buster on the PI4 the System.Data.SqlClient package is not working anymore: the SqlConnection.Open() call lock forever and never return. The MS guys checked all the stuff telling me that everything is fine, and told me to redirect bug to r...

Pi4 renamed wwan0 interface..

I'm using QMI interface with a Quectel BG96 modem. This creates WWAN0 interface on the Pi. A couple a days ago, without any notice, on Pi4 (Raspbian Buster) my "wwan0" interface became "wwp1s0u1u4i4" ... ouch! This didn't happen on Pi3 (stretch). Can I reset to default name wwan0? How can be done? :?:

Re: Dotnet 2.2 best way to communicate with GPIO

There are different libs to access Gpio: https://github.com/unosquare/raspberryio Is a wrapper on wiringPI (easy to use) and it's good. Unosquare has also a wrapper on pigpio library I normally use: https://github.com/dotnet/iot This works nice and has a lot of device defined. This comes from Micros...

How you installed Net core? I install it normally in /opt sudo mkdir -p /opt/dotnet sudo tar zxf dotnet-sdk*.tar.gz -C /opt/dotnet sudo ln -s /opt/dotnet/dotnet /usr/local/bin Then I set the environment var in .bashrc: export DOTNET_ROOT=/opt/dotnet I've no problem with this setup for .NET and ASP.N...

Re: Pi 3 b+ and waveshare HAT

Hi VanVince,
I think you need to move join PWR to P4 (BS0-H3). This will connect POWERKEY Pin to BCM pin 4 (pin 7 of the connector). Setting pin BCM 4 to 1 will start power to SIM7000. I don't remind if it needs a steady 1 or just a 100ms pulse to start modem.

Yes, very difficult (impossible) to buy CM 3+L/8/16/32 (all memory config options) .. I was lucky, and 1 month ago I received 1 CM3+ 32G and 1 3+ Lite module out of 10 ordered. Farnell (it) reported me to wait until September 2019..

Hi, just to give you a one more idea, I choose Sixfab guys hat & modem products. I got a Quectel EC25 mPcie module and relative hat from them. In just 10min I got it working fine with QMI (Qualcomm modem interface) api. On their site there are some tutorial how to do step by step, and it worked flaw...

I read somewhere, that microchip lan951x chip production has changed recently for some weakness in the industrial model due to temperature. I can’t remind where I got the news, but this was not related to Pi.

I'm working in C# too, but on NetCore 2.2 and I find Unosquare wrapper around the wiringPi lib working very nice.

Be aware that SIM7600E has "-H" and "-T" chip. DON'T buy "-T" chip, it is for China.

Re: "Package" Options

To me is not really clear what Farnell, in my country, sells as Computer Module Kit "RASPBERRY-PI RPI-COMPUTE3-KIT Raspberry Pi Compute Module 3 Development Kit" ... They show 2 CM3 boards included with 1 CMIO board, but I'm not sure you get 2 CM modules.

I think you need to declare low level functionality use in the app package configuration. Sorry I can't remind the xml file name at the moment.

Last release (insider preview) is 10.0.14936.1000.
You need to flash iso 14376 on a SD card, then get last build via Windows Update.

Re: Visual Studio for Pi development

I find "Visual C++ for IoT Development" to be excellent. That's for use with the Win10IoT stuff that you can boot on your RPi (that's existed since the RPi2 was launched). The new VS plugin to build & debug things on Linux using gcc is a million times more exciting. Sorry, no it's got nothing to do...
