Pocketsphinx microphone tutorial

I am trying to add voice control to a robot using pocketsphinx. However I am unable to find a clear and simple tutorial on how to read a microphone in python. Does anyone know of any good ones or familiar on the process?

WHat programming language are you using. My own robot uses python and I have had trouble in the pass reading data from arduino.

Slam mapping

Does anyone know a good slam mapping library in python? I have tried ROS but I could not make heads or tails on the documentation. ALso I would prefer not to buy a laser sensor

Re: seeing and grabing an object

Me again turns out my problem is that I have not transformed my Cv .captured objects into something I can Process with the SURF point extractor or the match template function. Any one know how to fix this?

It me again. I kind of messed up what I was going to say. Where I said It was not work I meant that I was getting error messages that I could not understand.

seeing and grabing an object

I have built a small mobile robot with a gripper. I have been trying to get it to see the object using opencv and then using the keypoints to make the robot manuver into position to grab it with very little success. I have tried a variety of algorithms I have found on the internet with very little s...

Re: Help

well I can say for sure it is not the SD card. I tried to load soft-float debian instead of raspbian like I was doing monday and did not get the authentication error. BUt I am having trouble with this too. it seems It can't read the /dev/tty1 file. I am using the downloads from this website's downlo...

Re: Help

Okay I have reloaded the operating system on SD card but when I tried to boot pi I am getting authentication failutes. repeated ones in fact for the last hour before this post. Does this have anything to do with the fact I am using a card that was preloaded with debian 6 at a factory or what? What w...

Re: using python with opencv

I think i found a way around the problem in previous post, the answer was right there in the facial detection sample, just needed to use the X value of the detected object and the rest was easy. However I do have another problem. Would the haar algorithm be appropriate for detecting an object that i...

Re: using python with opencv

I've decided to use opencv after all. However I have not found one thing in the documentation that I need for my project. I need to know at least roughly the location of a blob or detected object in a frame. Do any of you know how to do this? Please note I have to use python for this project do some...

Re: Roboearth

The security thing is a good point. It could be tricky given that the communication would all be with wireless communication but I have a theory on how it could be done. lets say that a hospital employees two types of robots, 1 group ferries materials from centralized supply rooms to wherever it nee...

Roboearth

Have any of you heard of roboearth or it's open source cloud engine Rapyuta.? Rapyuta is a cloud software that allows robots to offload their heavy computational work to the cloud. It also allows robots connected to the cloud to share resources. When used in sympathy with roboearth network, it share...

Re: using python with opencv

my ultimate hope is to run object and facial recognition algorithms on the pi, but at the moment I would settle for color recognition and blob tracking, however I already have installed opencv last week. How would I go about removing it if necessary?

I got the pit to send data down the usb cable but unfortuantly the data is not being received or at least proccessed. THe propellor code has not changed from earlier post. What do you think?

using python with opencv

I have successfully gotten my pi to communicate with a propellor chip by adapting some python code for doing the same with an Arudino. Phase two is to set up computer vision using open cv. Are there any particularly good threads relating to doing this in python or tutorials on other websites?

Re: Model railroading

It been a few years since I install DCC on my own layout, so I am a little out of date with terminology, but I do know one thing, If you are trying to create accurately timed pulses like those required by a DCC system, I would not use the Pi. I would use a microcontroler like the Parrallax propellor...
