Re: Recommended DIY Chasis/Kit With Lots of Freedom?

why is there no RPi zero kit on sale? you have cheap kits that need RPi3. is there any starter kit with all he things inluded? Bateries and such? anything that is a bit cheaper? most when you add things on costs close to 80-100 EUR. not sure i want to spend so much just to try it out a bit. is it be...

Re: beginner's help with the Raspberry?

If I might ask, could you direct me to a how-to on setting up my phone as a remote for the Pi? if tv has CEC remote you can just use the TV remote. I think most new TV's should work with no issues. I have a 5 year old TV (I am sure models I older than that and it all works fine with the remote. I u...

plug and play as in a supported device. drivers should probably indeed be in kernel.

Aside form Modmypi selling them: https://www.modmypi.com/raspberry-pi-ac ... board-rc12

Freezing or reboots

I've been using Rpi for a year now as a media center (openelec). And it worked mostly fine until now. Had some issues with the PSU, but i replaced it with a nokia charger that had good reviews. it continued to work well since then. recently (in past few days) i am experiencing freezes or reboots whi...

Looking for keyboard

I think I need a keyboard. I am running openelec and I only borrowed keyboard it to install it. i do the rest via SSH. but I see I do not need it in case I need to troubleshoot something directly on the Pi. e.g if I decide to do an upgrade or something. I am also in the process of installing a new s...

if Pi is under warranty replace it.

there is always an option that components fail. i bought 2 same model motherboards 9 years ago. one stopped working after about 15 months. the other one is still working with no issues at all.

Yeah, i don't mind people editing my spelling, since i know i often type wrong especialyl with two kids jumping on me, pulling my leg... Plus it's not my native langauge anyway... the disk has it's own external PSU. the disk doesn't actually matter here because it won't boot even when i unplug the disk. the whole thing is about 7 months old only... and it already failed?! the PSU is PiHut PSU i got it all in a bundle from modmypi. i will leave it for a whole day to see if it ...

It won't boot - SOLVED

I am running OpenELEC on the Pi (installed using noobs and manually upgraded to higher version but still 3.something). yesterday i heard disk spinning up. when i tried to ssh to the Pi it wasn't there. so i went to turn on the TV to see what is going on. there was not input to the TV. i though ok it...

Re: VPN, Torrent, Proxy, anonymous......

So the question is, we need to make our traffic anonymous as we are concerned about recent hacks and want to keep our development both secure and secret until its ready for release (open source)! why the trafic should be anonymous? just use strong encryption and share encrypted files. use sha to ch...

Re: Ultima 7 on Raspbian guide

the installer would probably run on Wine (which again runs only on PC not on RPi i believe) if you use Linux on PC. Furthermore i believe GOG will move some titles to be available in linux as well so let's hope this step can be skipped in the future :) Ultima series are good games so it's good there...

Install OpenElec or Raspbmc or Xbian . Re: secure my code

if i understand correctly the OP just wants the data on SDHC card encrpyted. you could encrypt the files when they are not in use (when system is not loaded for example). you could put them in a container encrpyted with strong encryption. that way you won't be able to access them using just a card r...

Re: Question: raspberry pi usable for me?

for porgraming it might be better to buy a used computer for same price. you would get a faster mashicne. will use more power but it will be faster. something with 1GB ram and a single core CPU over 1Ghz should do just fine posssibly with a descent GPU (not something "mobile"). then you can put some...
