Re: Static IP Address on Raspbian Jessie [SOLVED]

Great! Just tested newest Raspbian and realized that my tool which uses /etc/network/interfaces for changing network settings is broken now. Why on earth this needed to be changed? Why there can’t be just one config file for ALL networking related settings? I understand that "networking" is a broad ...

Re: No blinking cursor on boot if loglevel=0

I was able to fix this by commenting out bcm2708_fb_set_par(&fb->fb); at line 680 in function bcm2708_fb_register in bcm2708_fb.c and rebuilding kernel. This line was added in commit 833534cacc4bd0ce1ed2c077bb42aa466c468536 (13 Dec 2014). If someone knows how to fix this without building own kernel,...

Re: No blinking cursor on boot if loglevel=0

Doesn't anyone know? I tried adding

Code: Select all

vt.cur_default=2 vt.global_cursor_default=1
to cmdline.txt but it didn't help.

No blinking cursor on boot if loglevel=0

With kernel version 3.12.28+ and firmware version 3f2f2607186be72e4945cfa8edc77872dfc73195 and with loglevel=0 in cmdline.txt no boot messages are printed but the cursor is blinking. After upgrading to kernel 3.18.7+ and to firmware 7789db485409720b0e523a3d6b86b12ed56fd152 the cursor is gone. So how...

Re: Raspberry Pi B+ schematic

It is very strange that there’s still no full B+ schematics available. It goes against open source methodology. Are you planning to release full Raspberry Pi 2 schematics?

Common volume control for OpenMAX applications

Is there a way to control the volume of all applications that uses OpenMAX? I mean something like

Code: Select all

amixer sset PCM,0 100%
but that will work for omxplayer and other OpenMax applications.

Re: Larger boot partition wanted

If I understood correctly the above conversation, it is possible to create additional FAT32 partition and make it visible for windows while still be able to boot from another (original) FAT16 partition (which will not be visible for windows). If this is the case, could somebody provide exact instruc...

Re: QtMultimedia, OpenMAX and GStreamer - will it ever work?

look for how to enable debug info in gstreamer because it looks like you get software decoding with gstreamer ffmpeg Well, the first lines of omx debug are: omx gstomx.c:2086:plugin_init:[00m Registering element 'omxmpeg4videodec' omx gstomx.c:2086:plugin_init:[00m Registering element 'omxh264dec' ...

Re: QtMultimedia, OpenMAX and GStreamer - will it ever work?

Again: did you try the qmlvideo sample application? Do you mean this example? http://doc.qt.digia.com/qtmobility/video-qmlvideo.html If so then it seems like pretty complex example and I am not sure if I am able to reconfigure and compile it for RPi. Actually I don’t even need all the functionality...

Getting jack to work seems to be another long story: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... =41&t=5787
I don’t really need a sound at this moment. Is there any way to get only the video working without the sound?

Check the config.log in qtmultimedia to see if there's anything missing. Thanks for the hint. Re: QtMultimedia, OpenMAX and GStreamer - will it ever work?

Did you compile and install the qtmultimedia module correctly? I think so, I used this script: https://gist.github.com/raw/3488286/d1d301946297be999d96df632a0ad0095a4d77e7/bakeqtpi.bash so the module was installed simply like that: cd your_qt_module your_qt_prefix/bin/qmake make -j(number_of_cpus +...

Re: QtMultimedia, OpenMAX and GStreamer - will it ever work?

Upon further searching, it seems Luca Carlon (luca4) has done almost exactly what I want: http://thebugfreeblog.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/custom-qml-component-for-rendering.html So have you managed to get qt.mediaplayer to work? I have exactly the same problem: defaultServiceProvider::requestService()...

Software copy protection methods

I need to protect my application from copying. The application is written in C++ (Qt) and it is located on the SD card of the RPi. I realize that there is probably no way to prevent actual coping of the application’s files but there is a way to prevent somebody from running the application without t...
