Re: Webcam stream

This seems to be an old issue. However the problem of "Init_VideoIn failed" was solved when "sudo service motion stop" was executed. There was some input problem when fswebcam was tried and so I thought some other program was taking control of input.

Re: Pidora HowTo ?

Compared to Debian Wheezy, Pidora / Fedora Remix boots quicker and SD card corruption also is less. XWindow appears to be stable. However, the main problem is Omxplayer which is difficult to install. Google search gives a few installation methods but they don't work. I am eagerly waiting for some in...

Re: sdcard sudenly won't boot

On a number of occasions, I solved the booting problem by running fsck in a Linux machine after connecting the SDcard in a card reader. Generally, I find that running RPi headless creates less problems in SDcard.

Re: USB HDD

Sorry.. I was in a hurry to respond. When I ran 'df -h' after sending the reply, I saw the size of rootfs as 19G out of which 1.8G has been used. Earlier, I was not getting this. Thanks again.

Re: USB HDD

Thank you for the quick reply. I had already run 'sudo resize2fs /dev/sda1' as given in your post. I got messages 'freeing already freed blocks' or something like that which scrolled very fast. After seeing your reply, I ran the command again and I got a message: "The file system is already 4882944 ...

Re: USB HDD

I saw this post only after trying a 20GB USB drive and pre-programmed 8GB SD card in Linux Fedora. After connecting both the devices, I ran 'dd' command to transfer all Linux files from SD card to HDD (formatted earlier in ext4). After copying (takes a lot of time), I changed 'cmdline.txt' file to c...

XWindow crashes after a few runs

After using pre-installed SD card for sometime, I changed to microSD with adaptor. I tried various XWindow types successfully but they crash after a few runs. Otherwise, it is OK. Also, while booting the microSD card shows error but gets corrected automatically. Is the problem due to microSD? Thanks...

Re: Media player on Debian

I have installed omxplayer and it works nicely even from the terminal. XBMC is still better and can be installed in a separate SD card.

Re: Can I share my laptop's internet connection?

Sorry for the number of mistakes..Was in a hurry as my Net connection was not stable..Windows will allot 192.168.0.1 to the laptop. Allot manually 192.168.0.2 to Rasp Pi (along with Subnet Mask, Gateway and entry for Nameserver in /etc/resolv.conf. ) Now Rasp Pi will get connected to the Internet (a...

Re: Can I share my laptop's internet connection?

It is quite easy. In Windows, allow Internet sharing. An IP of 192.168.0.2 will be automatically assigned to the Laptop's network card. Make static IP of 192.168.0.2 in Rasp Pi. Enter subnet mask and gateway (192.168.0.1). Also make an entry in /etc/resolv.conf with nameserver=192.168.0.2. Reboot an...

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hi, I am VSN and I got a Rasp Pi recently, thanks to my son. I am facing a strange problem. When I connect RaPi to one Sansui SSeries HD LCD TV through composite video, it works all right but HDMI is not through. But, after removing HDMI cable and reconnect Video cable, the X Window screen remains s...
