Re: RF 433 MHz "Universal" for shutter

I've made a system with a simple RF transmitter which allows my Pi to control power switches. I used this guide: http://www.hoagieshouse.com/RaspberryPi/RCSockets/RCPlug.html You just plug an RF receiver into the microphone jack of a computer which allows you to record the signal you send with the r...

Re: Set cgi script query_string in command line

I get this error in the log: [IP-address] - - [11/Nov/2012:14:01:16 +0100] "GET /cgi-bin/switch_cgi?1&on HTTP/1.1" 404 509 "http://[IP-address]/switch.html" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0" I figured out that Apache automatically redirects requests for the c...

Re: Set cgi script query_string in command line

Thanks a lot! That's actually rather straight forward to do :). I've used this to check the script and it does work for the correct values of QUERY_STRING. I have a html page where I use javascript to call this cgi script: m_XML.open("GET","cgi-bin/switch_cgi?"+chan+"&"+state); This however does not...

Set cgi script query_string in command line

Hello all, I'm new to programming and have some trouble adapting a existing cgi script. I've got the following script called switch_cgi located in the /var/www/cgi-bin folder. When I enable the line with QUERY_STRING= then the script works. But I want to call this script in the command line and set ...

Re: Which torrent

I wouldn't advise rTorrent, in my case it used a lot of resources and as a result my pi constantly crashed. I'm now using Transmission, it's a daemon so it runs at boot and can be viewed by either a web interface or a program for Windows. It also has the feature to limit the number of active torrent...

Re: Torrent server

Do you not experience the pi keep freezing and the download speed fluctuating like crazy? Or have you made some special settings? Try looking at htop while downloading and see how transmission behaves! Since switching from rTorrent to Transmission the pi has not frozen a single time. I've not monit...

Re: Torrent server

What image are you using? I remember that latest Raspbian image have some USB fix, can't remember exactly. This USB fix should improve performance. I'm using Raspbian 3.2.27+. While setting the max memory fixed the crashing, rTorrent couldn't hash files anymore due to a lack of memory. But the torr...

Re: Torrent server

Hello all, I've experienced the same problems running rTorrent. It would get incredibly slow and within 10 minutes just stop working at all. I've tried the solutions to add "smsc95xx.turbo_mode=N" in vim "/boot/cmdline.txt" and to increase "vm.min_free_kbytes = 8192" to 16384 in "vim/etc/sysctl.conf...
