I would keep all but the ssh port closed to the internet and use ssh port forwarding.

I have an LG TV that crashes about 5% of the time when selecting a Philips DVD player. I have to turn the power off at the plug for the TV for about 30 secs for it to work again.
It doesn't do it with the LG blu ray player

Openelec is the business for video playne streamed, local USB stick, sd card and USB hd playback. Not had problem.with any of them.

just rename the file:
boot_enable_ssh.rc
to:
boot.rc
on the dos boot partition.

a little simpler don't you think? ;)

Am I the ony one who is finding qemu really slow? About 1/6th of the speed of a raspberry pi, if not slower. Windows 7, 4mg RAM. No network at the moment either but need to let it through ISA Server. ren 4mg RAM.... I see the problem ;) quem is emulating an ARM processor, so it's software not hardw...

make sure you have no USB devices in and no Ethernet
