Re: Pi Noir Camera Module image interference

No - I gave up in the end. This was on my Pi 1

Although I just got a Pi 3 so when my Pi 2 becomes redundant I may try again. Pretty sure it's a faulty camera module though

Re: Auto Mount USB drive When it is plugged in.

If it helps anyone, I found the simplest solution to this was to add these lines to my /etc/rc.local sleep 5 umount /dev/sda1 sleep 20 sudo mount -a Absolutely no idea why Jessie is refusing to just mount the fstab properly, but this effectively just recreates the manual fix which is to umount the U...

Re: Pi Noir Camera Module image interference

Fair points - I have a second Pi so I'll swap the PSUs over

If that makes no odds then I will also reseat the camera cable and see how I get on

Cheers all

Pi Noir Camera Module image interference

08-36-49.jpg 15-46-23.jpg I have a Pi Noir camera module and it all seems to work OK except for constant interference on the picture in the form of horizontal flashes This makes it useless for motion detection, as the interference triggers the frame change It's not a uniform thing, it seems random ...

Re: motionEye with Raspberry PI

Hi using MotionEye on a RPi and my camera constantly seems to have horizontal flashes appearing every few seconds, which seems to trigger the motion detection, meaning I have loads more pitcures captured than I actually want. Any ideas how to fix? The light detection setting seems to make no differe...

Re: Use Pi as a Plex Media Server

Cheers - I'm a bit baffled by the length of time it takes to scan music. Using the Last.fm scanner to download metadata took nearly a week on my 80,000+ tracks. So I started again and chose Personal Media Library, which is supposed to just use the local cover.jpg files, but it still takes days. Comp...

Re: Use Pi as a Plex Media Server

Wow - this was ridiculously easy to set up on the Pi2, and the Plex app on my Smart TV seems pretty swish

The build of my music library (80,000 tracks) is taking looooong though. 10 hours so far and still going

Re: Surveillance camera based on BuildRoot and Motion

Having real problems now - it keeps hanging when trying to access the pictures, and then can't connect via web or ssh - meaning I have to unplug. Now it seems to have got to the point where the web page loads, but choosing any options at all sends it into the hanging/unresponsive state. Do I need to...

Re: Surveillance camera based on BuildRoot and Motion

The generic browser on my Android phone works OK apart from the download buttons. If I try and download the pictures to my phone, it just does nothing. Same with the timelapse video, it goes through generates to 100% then goes straight back to the main screen. Is that normal?

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi version 7.50

OK - that makes more sense - I have 80,000 and my full scan still takes a few hours, scan for changes takes 20 minutes The playlist thing is weird, I can only think it's to do with the permissions. The stage where it recognises they aren't there is after the main discovery stage, so it can't be beca...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi version 7.50

How many tracks in your library? Mine seems to be doing a weird thing on scan now where it sayd it can't find the playlists on the disk, so deletes them all Then when it gets to the new playlists bit of the scan it adds them all back in again Very odd - just wondering if it's now so fast it's not wa...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi version 7.50

I think from memory, I downloaded the noobs 1.3.12 image from the RP site http://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/ and looked for boot files that had a date of 31st January or later That was bootcode.bin and then everything out of boot.tar.xz Overwrote the corresponding files on the Squeezeplug image, ...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi version 7.50

Yes - the SP image just gave me the rainbow screen In fact - most of the images from the Raspberry Pi site wouldn't load initially, as I got my Pi2 next day delivery after the release date, so not all of them had been updated In the end I found the image on the RP site that did work, and then compar...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi version 7.50

I used to do just this, although not as a minidlna client. I had the squeezeplug sat next to the old CRT TV (connected to my NAS via wifi) - and installed OMXplayer on the squeezeplug (on top of the standard SP image) There were several phone apps out there which then allowed me to control OMXplayer...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi version 7.50

Not done any true testing yet - been busy trying to get everything else set up the same as on my old pi That said - the first full scan of my music library (70,500 songs) took about 6 hours (usually it's nearly 9 hours) and a "look for new & changed files" scan when there are no changes took 20 minu...

Re: RS up to their tricks again...

yeah the guy at RS didn't sound very convincing. I suspect that they just had no stock and didn't want to split the orders. It's barely worth their while to send a £4 case out separately when I've only paid the postage for one shipment

Re: RS up to their tricks again...

I ordered mine from RS UK on the morning of launch and it arrived next day (yesterday) However – I ordered a B+ case with it (my existing PI is an A so I can’t reuse the case) No case in the order when I opened it. The despatch note inside said it should be there. So I called them and they said that...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi version 7.50

Wow - just seen that the Raspbery PI 2 B is out now - for less than £30 It has 1GB RAM and a quad core CPU - so in theory Squeezeplug should fly The marketing spiel says that everyting else is the same as the B+ model, so I hope that you can get an image of SP working for this new RRP2 model. I've o...

Awesome, that means I could connect my NAS disk directly to Odroid via USB rather than via a SAMBA share on the NAS server.

That should be quicker disk access right? Both NAS and Pi are ethernet hard-wired to my router

Thanks - I suspected as much. The Odroid page is a bit misleading as they state here: http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=80&t=5585 Re: Maximum power over USB ? Postby odroid » Thu Jul 10, 2014 8:29 pm Normaly we can use a keyboard, a mouse and a 2.5inch USB-HDD without external power supply .
