Re: RPDesktop on Buster ?

Yes, we follow the appropriate mailing lists. Despite being in freeze, our packages still get bumped by newer versions and there are still plenty of packages left to port across.

Re: RPDesktop on Buster ?

The short version would be that we are still working on Buster. Rebuilding for x86 at this point wouldn't be worth it because things will still change a lot before the release.

To be clear, are you talking about i386 or armhf?

Before filing an issue it would be good to narrow it down to the responsible package, because I won't be able to reproduce it.

Re: Ras3 crashes after update

Any brave souls want to help double check this one definitely doesn't set anything on fire? Especially those that noticed issues which changed behaviour without crashing everything. wget http://repo.xecdesign.com/raspi-copies-and-fills_0.12_armhf.deb sudo dpkg -i raspi-copies-and-fills_0.12_armhf.de...

Looks good to me. Not sure why you'd be seeing different behaviour.

What's the output of 'apt policy chromium-browser'? I see the test finish with a score of 507/555.

Re: [RPI3] Browers can't update live information without reloading everything

I think a test case is required to confirm there's an issue. All the ajax examples I see work as expected.

This is the second time I've seen somebody say that. Where is this information coming from? What gives people the impression that you ever need to enable ssh more than once?

Re: Chromium youtube videos bad performance on rpi3B+

I had to get rid of 65 in the repo archive because the server was out of space, it's back there now, but a bit of a pain to install:

Re: Chromium youtube videos bad performance on rpi3B+

Another update: The old version may have used memcpys whereas the new version uses DMA. Although DMA copies reduced the CPU usage, they seem to be a little slower. Going back to memcpy seems to improve video playback and the expense of higher CPU usage, which may not be a good trade-off on armv6 pis...

Re: Chromium youtube videos bad performance on rpi3B+

It's looking more and more like change in upstream chromium rather than anything related to the mmal patches. We'll keep looking into it, but it's not looking promising.

You could connect it to the 3v3 line instead of the 5v line. Alternatively, Noctua have nice quiet fans if you want to overspend on one.

I assume so, but haven't checked. The iso generation process involves a build of all the out of date software, so there is not reason the fix wouldn't propagate through.

Re: Feature Request: Readonly filesystem on Raspbian with official support

The closest thing we have right now is piserver. The problem with read only rootfs is that there are many applications which expect to be able to write wherever they want and fail when they can't. These scripts take some of the known locations and make them tmpfs mounts, which can work around the ma...

Re: SDL2 .deb package not in repo (2019/04/10)

Originally, UI was added as a way to keep UI mods separate, for people who wanted to use stock LXDE. That didn't really work out out and ui and main have no real meaning.

We should probably remove ui and use main for everything.

Thought I'd throw this in the mix: http://www.righto.com/2012/10/a-dozen-usb-chargers-in-lab-apple-is.html The power curve captures demonstrate why cheap chargers aren't good enough. Also why you should avoid them altogether, even if they work well enough for your phone: http://www.righto.com/2012/0...
