Re: PasteBin Alternative - Built on PI

Added a pasted data page this evening, this includes Copy to clipboard, download and RAW buttons. Here is an example: http://textbin.ga/paste/?ID=MSEBVhUt Previously it only displayed RAW like this: http://textbin.ga/files/MSEBVhUt All pastes done before this change can be accessed on the new paste ...

Re: PasteBin Alternative - Built on PI

Absolutely nothing, that works fine although due to the simplicity of this It in theory should run on any os. Powershell support is almost finished and it should work on any version of Linux/Unix that does not support pastebinit without the need to compile it from source. Essentially if you can inst...

PasteBin Alternative - Built on PI

Using skills I have learnt from playing with Pi's over the years I have made a tool that I find useful. A pastebin alternative with *nix CLI support. Here it is: http://textbin.ga See it in use here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnzNSF2N26w If anyone has any suggestion let me know. It would also ...

SPI Ethernet using ENC28J60

I have been doing some testing with the ENC28J60, it gets around 5Mb/s up and down. Not massively fast but ideal for IOT style projects. Just thought I'd share some speed tests. I'm going to be using this alongside a Pi Zero for a little project I'm working on. http://i.imgur.com/iY84zka.jpg http://...

Raspberry Pi + Amazon Dash Button Doorbell

I am making a mini youtube series to show how an Amazon Dash button can be used with a PI as a smart texting doorbell.

Hopefully they will be of interest :)

Re: Made a little script to find your external IP

Yeah if you can telnet to your router you could also use this: #!/usr/bin/expect if { $argc < 3 } { puts "usage: ./telnet2router.exp router-ip username password" return -1 } set ip [lrange $argv 0 0] set username [lrange $argv 1 1] set password [lrange $argv 2 2] spawn telnet $ip expect "login:" { s...

Re: Can't remove motion package

as a last resort I would try this:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get install -fy
sudo dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/*.deb
sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get install -fy

Re: Made a little script to find your external IP

I use CODE: SELECT ALL curl -s http://httpbin.org/ip | awk '{print $2}' Yeah that also works, I just find it a bit shorter to use curl rapidwhois.uk/ip/ CODE: SELECT ALL dig +short myip.opendns.com @resolver1.opendns.com | awk '{printf "%s",$0}' Getting it directly from a DNS server is probably the...

Re: Start python script automatically on boot

Other option would be to make an int script. #!/bin/sh ### BEGIN INIT INFO # Provides: # Default-Start: 2 3 4 5 # Default-Stop: 0 1 6 # Short-Description: Start python script at boot time # Description: Enable service provided by daemon. ### END INIT INFO dir="/your/path/to/script" cmd="python yours...

Re: can`t upgrade libsdl1.2debian

Please try this, more likely a DNS issue than them blocking it!

Code: Select all

nano /etc/hosts
add the following

Code: Select all

93.93.128.230 archive.raspberrypi.org
Let me know how it goes.

Made a little script to find your external IP

Wrote a basic little PHP script to find your external IP on a linux based pi. Just thought I would share it :) You can see an example of this working by running the following command: curl rapidwhois.uk/ip/ http://jmdawson.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/ip.png or wget -qO- http://rapidwhois.uk/ip/...

Re: Minecraft server - How To

It won't be much difference as your only using one core. Try using JDK instead of JRE and using the following flags:

Code: Select all

-server -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+UseParNewGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalPacing -XX:ParallelGCThreads=4 -XX:+AggressiveOpts -Xms1G -Xmx1G -jar
