@Mad-Hatter.... I had a similar problem (maybe not the same). I was using NOOBS and @ShortTie suggested using plain vanilla Raspbian. RPi Cam is working brilliantly.

Thanks to both DougieLawson (A ZX80 graduate like myself) and ShiftPlusOne. I did indeed use pi as my login, followed by raspbian as the password, with no good result. @ pistoi0, I would suggest dumping NOOBS and just loading the raspbian image directly to the card. It seems to cause more problems then it is worth at times. I have been trying for three days to get this wonderful program working. I have followed the instructions carefully, tried two separate pi, one connected by eth0 another by a usb dongle. Is any one using the Puppy RasPi referred to in the title ? Runs a bit faster that Barry's Puppy Squeezed pup. 01Micko's is Wheezy based I believe and it needs work.

Well this forum looks pretty dead...but I will give it a shot to see if anyone has any info. Downloaded the Alpha 4 Puppy image and changed the bootcode.bin to the raspian version so it would work on my 512mb Pi....Puppy booted up with no problem...yay! Sound doesn't work...boo!
