Re: CPC are here to answer questions :)

I'm just looking at some of the WiFi adaptors in the Makertech "catalogue" There is the WiPi Wireless USB dongle (SC1276119) @ £12 and the Dynamode WL-700-RXS Nano USB adaptor (CS2411619) @ £6.35 I've had a look on the RPi Wiki to see if i can find any info regarding these WiFi dongles. The Nano do...

Re: CPC are here to answer questions :)

An embarsingly old version of iceweasel on a rather screwy mixture of debian versions. I could upgrade but i'm kinda reluctant because they remove the "properties" option from the right click menu on links. I've just tried it in chrome and it works there. There is a link to a PDF of the makertech b...

Re: Any in UK get there's from CPC ?

In my opinion the packaging that mine arrived in would have fine, if the anti-static bag the camera was in had been of the bubble -wrap type. There was a little mention of bubble wrap inside the boxes this morning so that might be the way forward (as well as a jiffy bag) - But that was just a littl...

Re: Any in UK get there's from CPC ?

Do you still want an e-mail reference ? Mine arrived as others, grey self seal bag and a very squashed box. Not had a chance to test it yet, hoping to do that tomorrow. Hi Steve No, thats OK thanks. We've more than enough examples now and the warehouse has taken action already to stop it happening ...

Just to let you guys know that the warehouse have taken a look at these orders and have spoken to the packers to ensure that any future orders get sent out in the appropriate packaging.

Thanks for the feedback on this, helps us get it right in the future! :)

Re: Any in UK get there's from CPC ?

My camera also arrived in a slightly squashed white box in a grey mail bag, with no protection other than that there was a lot of air in the box which absorbed whatever squashed it. Could you do the same please Zxa? - Send the Order Reference to social@cpc.co.uk and we'll look in to these orders. A...

Re: Any in UK get there's from CPC ?

I've been using CPC for several years, and FWIW this is actually my first CPC delivery that's come via royal mail and not via courier in a box. Mine has just arrived and wasn't even in a jiffy bag, but in a self sealing grey plastic bag. So there was no padding for the white cardboard box, other th...

Re: Errors in the Element14 "unofficial camera setup guide"

Just a thought. Your guide assumes that people are going to install from scratch rather than starting with an existing image. For those that are not installing a fresh image it might be worth stressing that the Pi should be shut down and powered off before connecting the camera. :-) We'll feed that...

Re: Any in UK get there's from CPC ?

The postman (bless him!) has managed to completely squash the box as he put it through the letter box with a load of other post, but the camera module seems undamaged. The packaging is just one of those plastic posting bags with no padding. I think CPC might get a few returns if they are all packed...

Hi All We're shipping it out via our Export Department, but you'd need to speak to those for costings on it all etc. If you'd like to get in touch with them then you can send an email to internationalsales@cpc.co.uk and they'll go through it all with you. What we would say is that you'll still be su...

Hey Jimmybobby It is a powered hub, however it is not intended to be used to power the Raspberry Pi, the kit includes a separate 5V 1A microUSB PSU for the purpose of powering the Pi. The hub is intended to allow the user to attach additional USB devices to the Pi without adding additional power loa...

Re: CPC are here to answer questions :)

I don't think this idea of actively engaging with complaining and whinging customers is going to take off. I mean - thing get sorted when we complain - no other company does that - you'll be bust within the year devoting all this time and effort (I'm assuming one person 1hr day on average) ! Do the...
