Does anyone need an original gertboard?

Hi, is anyone interested in buying my gertboard kit (unassembled)? I've decided to wait for the pre-assembled one because im not convinced my soldering skills are good enough. Let me know, I am only asking for the same amount as it cost me (plus postage). Everything is still in its original packagin...

Scratch 2.0 and the internet

Hi, I've been watching some videos on the net of 2.0 previews. It looks like Scratch 2.0 is going to need an internet connection to work? If that's true, its going to be a problem running a pi locally through the ethernet port, and for people without direct access to the net. Does this mean anyone w...

Re: Scratch is hanging

Thanks, after I wrote this, I saw the thread about issues with sound. I've just done the same test as before except I didnt use any sound commands and Scratch is still responding after an hour or so. Looks like a sound issue, and its nice to know that scratch performance issues on the RasPi are bein...

Scratch is hanging

Hi guys, I'm having some real problems with running scratch on on RasP (256MB). I'm trying to teach a friends daughter some programming with Scratch, but keep getting scratch hanging after 5 or 10 minutes or so. Once it does this, it never seems to recover. I've overclocked to Turbo, and also tested...

Re: Configuring Pi headless from a new image

OK guys, thanks for all your help this afternoon. Its now working (in a round about way) :D Just in case this might help anyone else, here's what I did. I've got 2 Pi's - 1 on my desk with monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc and the other is directly connected to my laptop with just power and ethernet. Fr...

Re: Configuring Pi headless from a new image

I think malaki has a point, just get raspi-config configured with ssh enabled, set a static IP address then dump a new image. I'm testing it now.

Re: Configuring Pi headless from a new image

I thought I had it from the tip about arp before. arp -a was showing the (static) ip address of the pi. I reflashed the card, and now nothing is showing up, so either the windows pc bridge isnt giving the pi an ip address or arp -a isnt updating.

Re: Configuring Pi headless from a new image

Thanks Jacko, I'm still experimenting, but maybe a quick ping script to go through the DHCP window addresses could be the way to go, althought I've still not figured out how to get past the fact that the raspbian image first boots to raspi-config, which of course is sent to the terninal.

Cheers.

Configuring Pi headless from a new image

Hi guys, I've got a bit of a problem here. I install a new image onto the Pi, then I have to connect it physically to the router (or netgear hardware bridge), add monitor and keyboard so that I can do the initial raspi-config stuff. Once thats done I need to set up a static IP address as well before...

Re: Availability of Raspberry Pi V2.0

Yep, I had another 10 on order with RS, but decided to cancel the order because of the wait till sometime in November.

I cancelled with RS, ordered the same amount from Farnell (UK) last week, and 48 hours later....

5 x rev 1 boards and 5 x rev 2 boards in the same shipment!!

Re: So: who's got a rev2 board?

I ordered 5 from element14 a week or so ago, and they arrived yesterday. All Rev 2 :-)

I only ordered them because RS are telling me that my order is delayed till mid November.

Very happy.

Cheers, Lee
