I can't tell you how much I appreciate... I will use leads to hook up the daughterboard. Any advice ...

Re: Question about DAC

My seller insists that it is compatible with the Phat Dac made by Pimoroni. This piece of hardware is advertised as using only 3 GPIO pins, so I am thinking that maybe the other ones are for extra features...as per one of the posts in this thread... I will try these days, didn't get around to it :( ...

Re: Question about DAC

Thanks 6by9, Problem is that I am very illiterate in the field that you excel in. It was an easy job soldering the headers on the phatDAC and on the pi zero... A totally different thing with this board. Can you confirm in plain English how to wire this bugger, ie which pad connected ts to which pin ...

There are 14 pins, but 11 holes...if I counted correctly (it's 7am here, still sleepy).
So I guess I will be waiting for one of those chaps :)

Re: Question about DAC

Duh, I probably should have included this in the first post...
It is a PCM 5102A. Hope it helps...and thanks.

Edit:
It came with a pin header...male...does it mean that it can be plugged directly in the pi?

Question about DAC

Hello all, I just received this so-called raspberry pi-compatible DAC, but it came without instructions https://s11.postimg.org/5peump3gz/20161115_183150_2.jpg Does anyone have any idea where to solder those points? I already did this for a raspberry pi zero phat dac and it works wonderfully in Volu...

Re: RPi and real-time, low-latency audio

Hello Jeremy and the other readers of the thread, I finally got my raspberry pi (not the pi 2) to work. I started off fresh with a raspbian installation. Overclocked and expanded file system and then did the update/upgrade. I installed the software and tried my M-Audio card for both inputs and outpu...

Re: RPi and real-time, low-latency audio

The guide that I found on youtube failed to work for me because of unmet dependencies: The following packages have unmet dependencies: jackd1 : Depends: libjack0 (= 1:0.124.1+20140122git5013bed0-3.1+fixed1~raspbian1) but it is not going to be installed Depends: libdb5.1 but it is ...

Re: RPi and real-time, low-latency audio

Hi Jeremy, Guess what, I plugged the Pi2 running Ubuntu Mate and it works with the external USB card as both input and output. I went back to the first Pi and ran ulimit -a and here's the output: [gixie@alarmpi ~]$ ulimit -a core file size (blocks, -c) unlimited data seg size (kbytes, -d) unlimited ...

Re: RPi and real-time, low-latency audio

One more thing I noticed in your posts Jeremy that you use commands a la Ubuntu

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install
Is this available in Arch?

Second, am I better off with a Pi2 to start with...for more resources? Or maybe invest in different hardware? What do you think?
Thanks for your time!

Re: RPi and real-time, low-latency audio

Thanks Jeremy, For starters, I run Arch Linux, the latest image available on their servers. I am a GUI person, so I slapped XFCE. I want to make sure I can get it to work before moving away from the GUI. I created a user, added it to the audio group. I then started to play with the command below. [g...

Re: RPi and real-time, low-latency audio

Hello everybody, I started looking into a guitar effects processor based on a pi or pi2 (I own both and a couple of 0s). I managed to get everything working under Ubuntu x64 un a modified Asus Chromebox with an external M-Audio Fast Track device. I can't for the love of it get it to work on the Pi's...

Hi,
Has there been any update on this matter?
I have three of these and the sudo ifconfig.... command does not work in OSMC for some reason, it just hangs. It is really annoying!

Dual screen in-car media center

Hi, The title says it all... I want to replace a dual screen DVD player by a pi hooked to two 15 inch VGA screen. I was wondering if my idea is doable. I have the screens. I need to buy the vga adapter and a splitter cable. Would that work fine in KODI? I tried passing the audio through my Honda CRV...
