Re: Sabre USB DAC SA9023 problem

I never solved the SA9023 problem and have given up. There are plenty of other options out there that do work so when I have another go, will use one of them. I use a cheap USB card for now http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003 ... UTF8&psc=1.

cheers,

Re: SqueezePlug Version 6 available

Castalla Thanks for your speedy response. Yes on the new RPi's. I tried copying the files but it didn't work. I am going to try the tutorial at AllThingsPi. Really what I want is a vortexbox to act as server and RPi's for each room in the house. That's what I'm trying to do. PiCorePlayer is Squeeze...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 6 available

Thanks for the suggestion. It doesn't matter if the USB DAC is plugged in or not. The USB DAC option means the Pi doesn't boot. I had the exact same thing with the PiCorePlayer which was fine until I selected USB audio and then it goes missing on reboot.

cheers,

Stephen

Re: SqueezePlug Version 6 available

I've been happiily using V6.02 squeezeplug running squeezelite as a player. I wanted to try a USB DAC so have a HiFiMeDIY one to hand that many others have had success with. But when I uninstall squeezelite and install it again and chose this DAC as the output option, the Pi won't boot. So I go back...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

Is anyone else still experiencing noise on the headphone output? I'm using the Netgear N150 WiFi dongle. When it is paused or the music is very quiet, there is still some interference caused by the WiFi. It was way worse when using another dongle. My understanding is that many have a similar setup w...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 5 ready for download

Hi Truehl, 8. Definitely not a Squeezeplug issue and I'm only working my way through the LMS manual now, but can LMS be set to automatically start streaming, say a radio station on boot up. I like the fact the Squeezeplug can run headless but having to log in from another computer through SSH just ...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

Wonder if this is power supply related. Don't think so. I looked at things on a scope with my current supply and didn't see anything. Then I soldered in some connections and powered the rpi from a bench power supply. I see around 630 mA load on the supply. I'm still having random hiccups in the aud...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

Wonder if this is power supply related. I have 2A PSU. Been running the V5 with the patches, LMS and player continuously no problem. All new install on SD Card, music files on XP box on network. Can also simultaneously play music on my phone with Squeezeplayer app. No noise issues. Can't do any of t...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

I've loaded the new version 5 of squeezeplug and am experiencing audible pops when switching tracks. I'm using the on-board audio, not usb. I didn't notice this with the beta version. Has anyone else noticed this? Are you using WiFi or network cable? I ran the beta version for days without problem ...

Re: Pi compatible WIfi adaptor

I was able to get an ASUS USB-N10 adapter to work using Arch Linux which includes the r8712u driver if you upgrade the distro. I used netcfg to configure and bring up the interface. I had a lot of intermittent problems with the adapter plugged directly into the board which went away when I began us...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

The post below by Thomas explains. v5 is a test release not a full release like v4. choose ./lms.sh to setup the lms or ./squeezeslave.sh to setup squeezeplayer or you can do both The squeezeplayer will work on a wired network. Check Mr Engman's scripts which may be helpful to get it going wireless....

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

I tried drmarkb scripts and ultimately I got this at the beginning and then after all the updates. root@squeezeplug:~# iwconfig lo no wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions. At least I learnt how to edit files :) Any ideas welcome otherwise I might try some of the other things I read that ...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

I tried Mr Engmans script and while vey nice, it didn't work for the Asus N10 as it is unsupported by that script and support files so it says. I ran a script by fifthQ on v4 and I got it working but there were other sound issues then. That doesn't work on v5 but the sound issues are gone wile on a ...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

I realise Thomas is working hard for an easy to use release of Squeezeplug but I was hoping to get V5 test release going wireless in the meantime. V5 with network seems to work fine where v4 didn't. Previously on v4 I used the below script to get going wireless. Using this script wget http://www.ele...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

It's working much better for me now, but I still occasionally get a popping noise when I switch tracks. I'm using the on-board audio and it sounds good to me other than the noise when switching tracks. I'm going to try a usb sound card to see if that fixes the popping. From what I read, the V5 fixe...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

I was trying to use the USB image tool to load the v5 image onto a Sandisk 4G card only to find the image is 3.977G while the card is 3.965G and so it won't fit. The v4.08b1 image was 3.872G so was no problem. Please advise how others can have success and I'm struggling. Thanks for your help. cheers...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

Hi Stephen, It sounds like you may have found the source of your problem (underpowered PSU). Once you have a good PSU, try again and see how you go. Also, I'm not sure if you're aware, but most usb wifi adapters won't work properly when plugged directly into the Raspi's USB ports, they need to be c...

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

Looking further at my WiFi problem, I guess there may be a power issue as the power supply is only 850mA and this may well be limiting the USB power. Will try a more powerful supply.

cheers,

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

Hi Thomas, Thanks for the great app Squeezeplug. I want to use it as a wireless music streamer. So far I've got Squeezeplayer working via a wired network connection very easily. I can't however get the wireless bit to work. From the post below I thought it would be fairly painless as I have the same...
