File:

Code: Select all

/lib/dhcpcd/dhcpcd-hooks/10-wpa_supplicant
Search for:

Code: Select all

nl80211,wext
And change it for:

Code: Select all

wext,nl80211
That should work.
Thanks a lot. Let's see if that works

Your problem isn't new. I've been waiting for an answer to this problem for a while. Original thread here https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/view ... p?t=248934.

I'm hoping the next Raspbian update fixes the issue.
Thanks a lot, it was difficult finding the exact reason

So what exactly are the steps to be taken to fix this? Which all files need to be edited?

Re: Problem connecting to WiFi network o Rpi 4.

Just so that u guys know, my Pi connects to all other WiFis without any issue...... It's just the college wifi which it's finding difficulty to connect. As I mentioned earlier, other versions of Pi were able to connect without any problem. Just Pi 4 is having some issues. When you took your other d...

Well, the discussion is about connecting it to college or university WiFi. The home wifi is working just fine with the country as IN

I had the same problem. I just changed "Country WiFi" settings (raspi-config - Localisation Options - Change WiFi Country) to GB and now both wifi range connect and working fine.
Were you trying to connect to your college wifi?

Re: Problem connecting to WiFi network o Rpi 4.

I tried both, and failed. The WiFi is a 5GHz WiFi. It's able to connect to all types of wifi (2.4 and 5GHz). Just not able to connect to college's wifi. I'll add my wpa_supplicant.conf soon to just show that it legit has to work As I said go talk to the network admin/help desk , most college networ...

Re: Problem connecting to WiFi network o Rpi 4.

The 169.254.x.x is just a default address the pi assigns to the network port/wifi if it can make a connection and get a proper address from the dhcp server on the network. How are you trying to connect the wifi , from the desktop or via the command line ? Do you have 2.4GHz or 5GHz wifi , if both d...

Re: Problem connecting to WiFi network o Rpi 4.

There have been posts about the USB3 ports interfering with WiFi on the 2.4 GHz band. This is actually quite common (i.e. is not just a Pi4 issue). See https://www.intel.ca/content/www/ca/en/products/docs/io/universal-serial-bus/usb3-frequency-interference-paper.html If you have a peripheral plugge...

Re: Problem connecting to WiFi network o Rpi 4.

I have the exact same problem on My Raspberry Pi 4, 4GB variant, did you get any solution yet. I don't think it's an error with the ipv6 driver, rather something is preventing the raspi to communicate with the DHCP, thus failing to get a proper connection.
