Re: Broken DSI connector

Quick update: managed to get the plaster cover/connector successfully off an old pi and onto the new pi 4 and working successfully. Just needed a sharp knife. Might have damaged one or two, but a dab hand at it now :-)

Broken DSI connector

Hi I’ve broken the plastic cover that holds the display ribbon cable onto my Raspberry PI 4 😞 From a google, it seems it’s quite a common thing to do, but can’t find anywhere to get replacements or how to put them back on - I’ve tried butchering an old pi3 which has an identical connector, but broke...

Re: Smart Pi Touch 2

Yes, it looks from the instructions that it previously came disassembled. I think that’s what confused me!

Oh well, all working and have managed a hello word program and flashing LED.

Just to get ready for pi wars next year! Hope Santa brings you the display case!

Thanks again

Re: Smart Pi Touch 2

Hey all, just wanted to say a huge thank you. With a little bit of force, the stand offs came off easily and it all fits together nicely.

I was just being too gentle as I slowly make my way around things!

Big thanks and have a wonderful Sunday 👍

Re: Smart Pi Touch 2

Thanks all. Particularly this describes the issue. As I've got the Touch 2, I need to see if I can force those stand offs from the board, as otherwise the screen doesn't fit flush in the case. I'll need to go in search for the tool kit which I'll do tomorrow. Have to say, they look fairly fixe, poss...

Re: Smart Pi Touch 2

Hi Thanks for your response. Sorry, I didn’t make myself clear. It’s the adapter board for the touchscreen that is fitted to the touchscreen that has the spacers on. Have to confess, haven’t got to attempting to fit the RPI! It was recommended by the guy in the raspberry store where I brought the to...

Smart Pi Touch 2

Hi Just got my first raspberry pi 4 working with the keyboard, mouse, and 7in touch screen display. The guy in the shop also sold me the smart pi touch 2 case, which looks great. Just trying to install the screen though, and the spacers on the pCB of the adapter board seem to be too big and the scre...
