I suppose you haven't enabled the MMU?

It's an alignment problem.

2. It's not that easy. You have to add several more tags in the query to specify correctly the display mode. Also, you have to pass an alignment requirement for the buffer on input, don't forget that.(...) Oh, I did that. That's what I meant by "using the various tags", sorry for not being precise ...

It is because VC can only access the first 1GB of RAM. It can't see anything above that. If you want to determine the total amount of RAM then you'll need to work it out from the revision code . Eek. I suspected that...So that also means that the framebuffer will always be allocated in the first 1G...

PI4 memory and framebuffer

Hello all, I'm working on programming the PI4 bare metal, in 64-bit mode. I'm making good progress. Just have a couple questions for now. Not a lot of information to be found yet for the PI4... especially in 64-bit mode. Note that I haven't enabled the MMU yet, so keep that in mind for the following...
