Re: Had a problem with movie files

Isn't is nice when it is all working. The new Title of the post looks a lot more cheerful too :D Yeah, it is but it was very frustrating, the frustrating part was trying the device on all my TVs which was a pain to get at took hours doing this and that, setting changing. And, Yeah, I figure a new t...

Re: You people shouldn't mislead people

The first 5% or so should be enough. It's only to eliminate your specific videos as a probable cause, I don't expect any change, but it's worth at least checking. Regarding the funny guy, he's right. Raspberry Pi is a UK company, they're likely still asleep. okay, fair enough just frustration kicki...

Re: You people shouldn't mislead people

Hmm, odd. To eliminate the video as a possible suspect, can you try the big buck bunny file found here and see if the symptom persists? https://peach.blender.org/download/ Wow, by the time I download any of those files I will be sleeping lol It saying to use Torrent but I don't do Torrent or ever h...

Your first post was at 1:22 am. It's currently 4am. I'd expect most of the Pi employees to be asleep at the moment.

I place a movie file on it use VLC to play it and it would do so in full screen mode Okay, so what's the i...

Re: Debian on a hard drive for PC

My original thread when I asked the question was if raspbian could be installed on a PC desktop and it was for only so whenever I have some time I could maybe learn Raspbian. My Pi4B unit I am not going to use it like a computer all I want to do with it is playing movies from a file and using the br...

Re: Raspbian on a hard drive for PC

No problem with most of those. A video file is a video file and most of those will play on a Pi the same way as they will play on a Linux PC. NO! Not all "video files" are identical, they can use very different decoding format, some which are easy to decode with minimal effort, some which need dedi...

Re: Raspbian on a hard drive for PC

Yeah well I thought this Pi4b thing could be used with a TV and watch movie files, which it can't or at least not in full mode view It can. It works well for me connected to either a monitor or HD TV displaying at 1080p full screen. What resolution are you trying to display at? If it is not working...

Re: Raspbian on a hard drive for PC

In general use, both are almost identical. Much more so than any other distributions of Linux. The look and feel of the desktop is the same. The packages available are almost the same (with a few differences due to the different hardware). The command line stuff is mostly the same. The main differe...
