Re: Boston MA?

Anything happening with setting up a users group or a Raspberry Jam in the Boston area? Anyone heard anything? I'm teaching a class to middle school students on Raspberry Pi and building robots.

I would be interested in getting together to trade ideas if anyone is interested.

Re: I made a Raspberry PI Laptop

The problem I'm experiencing is related to the Raspberry Pi being unable to process the USB transactions from the Lapdock. I have used a number of USB devices on both of the USB ports on the Raspberry Pi. All the cables have had very few insertions and are not defective. This is a failure of the Pi ...

Re: I made a Raspberry PI Laptop

I have a Motorola Droid Bionic Lapdock, with similar issues. I have carefully tested all my cables and made sure power on the pi was up to spec. Using the 'Y' cable I built I see 4.87 volts at the GPIO pins. The problem I was having was that my Pi did not see the Lapdock keyboard and trackpad. After...

Re: Anyone in the US get a ship date from Newark (Element/14)

<t>Mine is back to the Aug 15th date as well.  I think many of us will get units from the 8000 that were being reworked with new ethernet connectors.  So, I remain hopeful.  If not we are 1st up in front of about 200,000 other orders that have come in since Feb 29th.  I'm sure we will see our pie be...

Re: Anyone in the US get a ship date from Newark (Element/14)

Just had my ship date updated.  It's only moved from Aug 15th to July 17th.  Not such great movement.   I ordered at 8:03 in the morning of Feb. 29th too.  Hope this isn't the last update!

Re: Who else is building a RepRap here?

<t>Yes longboat looks good.   I chose MendelMax as perception is that it is very accurate, very stable and easy to expand.  My son and I are thinking of printing a kayak with snap together or bolt together parts.    So, I think we will be building a bigger version of the printer.  There are so many ...

<t>While I wait for my RPi I'm building a RepRap.  I'm actually building a MendelMax. Using linear bearings and Sanguinololu 1.3A electronics.  One of the uses for RPi will be to make the printer networked with the intention of spooling a design out to the printer.  Now I just need to come up with a...

Anyone have another link to the Newsround report?  That link doesn't allow the video to display across the pond in the USA.  I would like to see that clip if there is another source available.  I looked on youtube but it's not up there that I could find anyway. Thanks.

Re: Which version of HDMI ?

<t>I've read the FAQ and all the info on R-Pi. Just wanted to clarify on the HDMI 1.3a interface. I believe the Type A connector is the most common one. Is that the one on the R-Pi? The HDMI 1.3a specification also defines a Type C connector which is also 19 pins. Just wanted to confirm that the R-P...

Also, using chip on chip can we get even more ram than what is offered on the B unit without a new PCB. Sorry if these questions have been answered somewh...
