Re: latest rpi-update 2.5ghz with 4B 4g

understand, thank you for info, i will try to find a set with different thickness like yours! i realized i attached wrong image, with different case. with thermal pad included i have similar result, considering you run the test at 2.000 i tun at 1.750, so after all i think i will keep the thermal pa...

Re: latest rpi-update 2.5ghz with 4B 4g

I also purchased that case and have just been benchmarking it tonight with my RPi4B 4GB. I actually replaced the thermal pad for the cpu altogether, with a copper shim and arctic silver thermal compound. Because the case screws together, the shim is kept firmly in place and there is good contact be...

Re: Pi 4 - full specification of VideoCore 6

Where are people getting the idea that the GPU is barely being used? The driver has been there, in Raspbian, since the Pi4 launch! By default, the desktop uses it! It uses the GPU!! This blog post outlines some bug fixes and improvements that have been made, making it a bit faster and more robust. ...

Re: Pi 4 - full specification of VideoCore 6

This is worth a read! https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/vc4-and-v3d-opengl-drivers-for-raspberry-pi-an-update/ Amazing! i mean, basically atm raspbian and any other software running on pi4 barely use the gpu, the amount of performance and feature will be added in next months will be massive, for wha...

Re: latest rpi-update 2.5ghz with 4B 4g

Well, i see multiple bench video online and read multiple feedback from buyers before order it and seems the 2 fans cool 4-5 degree, not just 2, more compared to the fan-less version. this of course is not always the case, but as general idea the fan i think for sure help, to cool fast when not at 1...

Re: latest rpi-update 2.5ghz with 4B 4g

Interesting topic! i was sure all pi4 was stable at 2.0ghz but seems from this post, is not the case! i still have to test overclock with my pi4, i wait to receive a good metal case with 2 fans (Chinese one, "second revision" https://i.imgur.com/hjivSBx.jpg ). As general idea from what i understood,...

Re: Quick Pi4 Vilros Aluminum case review

interesting, thank you!

well, maybe is better to overclock to 1.8? possible will give still a good gain but without overheat too much, if i recall correctly 1.8 dont need at all or less, overvolt, compared to 2.0.

Re: passive heatsink shell case

exist same model as p3 case adapted for the 4p, but nevew is a version for both p3 and p4, i ordered and i waiting for it. i like because is cut short and metal dount touch the usb ports, and seems to have little more space "under", so the wi-fi will work better. also, the provide heat-pad for all i...

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

Hi people noob here! :D I was wondering, is normal for pinn to boot much slower compared to stand alone raspbian or libexec on a pi4b 4gb? i mean, the rainbow first screen stay 2-3 second more compared to boot directly with a sd with raspbian stand alone, and the black screen after the rainbow one s...

Re: Pi 4 firmware, software stability improvements

Hello everyone, with latest update youtube now good 1080p. but it seems horizontal lines middle of the screen when fast moving. It can be remove in future updates? This is called tearing, and without making X double buffer (!) will be difficult to mitigate against. And changes to X are not generall...

hello, i have maybe a dumb question (im total noob): this distro will have the same issue raspbian have to play youtube videos? the lack of double buffering who create horizontal tearing in video, even when video run with no frame drops? The same underlying X11 / mesa / vc4-fkms-v3d display pipelin...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Heatsink vs Fan vs Flirc Case

On my RPi4B-4G setup mentioned above, changing the blue thermal pad to thin copper sheet improved cooling further idling at 36C, watching YT videos at 40C, maxing at 45C during apt install/update/upgrades CPU at around 80% interesting i was seeing on aliexpress what case to buy to have good passive...
