MicroK8s Raspberry Pi 4 Cluster

I am just learning about Raspberry Pi 4 and associated versions, I have also read several very positive articles on MicroK8s capabilities: redundancy, fault tolerance, load sharing, etc. I have several RPI4s setup: NAS, Openhab, and PLEX. My first question is - can I create a cluster and run all the...

Good learning. Very nice raid setup from your pictures. I am also looking at adding additional drive...

danjperron good day. Here is the smb.conf file: # # Sample configuration file for the Samba suite for Debian GNU/Linux. # # # This is the main Samba configuration file. You should read the # smb.conf(5) manual page in order to understand the options listed # here. Samba has a huge number of configur...

RPi 4 NAS 2TB USB HDD 1/2 full - Windows Drive States full

Good Day - Novice here, I have a RPi 4 / 4GB / 32GB SD Card, with BUSTER (all latest updates) setup as a NAS. It has a 2TB USB HDD formatted to NTFS connected. The NAS in and of itself works just fine - but see below. I have mapped the NAS to a drive letter on my WIN10 computer. I can access and man...

Re: RPi4 cannot not write to Rpi 4 NAS

@DougieLawson In a prior post above you said: If the drive is ALWAYS connected to your RPi there is zero value in having it as NTFS. Reformat as EXT4 and get a 3X speed improvement and more from the better security fairy. Since the current drive is working, I am not going to mess with it. However, I...

Re: RPi4 cannot not write to Rpi 4 NAS

Change in the client PI4, the fstab. This will not affect the PMS function the client PI 4 is performing....corrcet? Yes. And add "rw" too. So: Code: Select all //192.168.0.32/donnellyshare /mnt/Media/ cifs rw,credentials=/home/pi/.smbcredentials,forceuid,uid=1000,forcegid,gid=1000,x-systemd.automou...

DougieLawson, that sounds good to me....I like simple, but secure. So If I understand, I have cifs setup now - right - from the fstab file. I have also installed and run ntfs-3g on my RPi 4 NAS as the usb attached harddrive is NTFS formated. Do I read correctly, you have the ZyXEL NAS then have a RP...

Re: RPi4 cannot not write to Rpi 4 NAS

I am a bit confused. The windows computer access is fine to the RPI4 NAS in that I can read, write, execute (create files/folders) on the NAS. If I understand - the window user has full access - good. That s what I want. What I can not do is move files from another RPI4 (like my PLEX Media Server (P...

Re: Rpi 4 as NAS and Print Server?

Eirikur and epoch1970, many thanks for your replies. The reason for my clarity is, I...

Rpi 4 as NAS and Print Server?

Good Day All,
I am a bit confused about the capability of a Raspberry Pi4 (w/4GB). Can a RPi4 act as a file server (NAS) and a print server? Or would I need two separate Rpi4's?
Many thanks in advance for any and all help.

Re: Pi not visible in Windows 10 network

It is possible that if your plex server is running wsdd, it will show up in Windows 10 Network, but there would be no point, you would get denied access, because there would be nothing to access. As has been said, you need to run Samba to have something to access. hortimech, Yup. That realization s...
