Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspbian Buster

Hi, I did everything according the instructions. Did all the tweaks as suggested in OP (GPU memory increase, udev rule etc.). All work great except little stutters every 3-5 seconds. TOP shows that kodi loads only 15% of the CPU Temperature stays constant at 72C. So I guess CPU is not thermal throt...

CrystalDiskMark for Linux

Hi,

I connected my Raspberry Pi 4 to an external hard drive and want to test the speed of it.
What would be an alternative to CrystalDiskMark but for Linux?

Thanks!!

Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspbian Buster

Just installed following the instructions and the GUI of the Kodi is so sloooww.
Also Temperature sign flashes on the upper right corner. I assume temp went over 80C.

I have a Pi 4 4GB version.

Anyway I will test more with a clean config. Has anybody encountered such slowlines and temp?

Re: [UPDATE] Kodi 18.4 Leia for Raspberry Pi 4

Hi all. There's this config.txt file where I have to make those changes?

Set your gpu_mem to 256 or higher in config.txt (ie, gpu_mem=256).
Enable fkms driver in config.txt (ie, dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d).

Re: How to output 5.1 sound to AV receiver from Pi 4?

Maybe you need to enable passthrough? https://kodi.wiki/view/Raspberry_Pi_FAQ#How_about_multichannel_audio_support.3F I assume you can connect to your receiver with HDMI. Btw, where did you see the Pi4 advertised as mediacenter? Surely not by the Foundation? ;) I can't enable passthru because this ...

Re: How to output 5.1 sound to AV receiver from Pi 4?

If you are using the 3.5mm analogue output then 2 channel stereo is all that is available, According to this thread https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=207610 5.1 output in ALSA is possible but you need a USB sound card to get the 5.1 output, see this threadhttps://www.raspberrypi.or...

How to output 5.1 sound to AV receiver from Pi 4?

Hi! I installed Raspbian (with Desktop but without additional apps). Dedault config.. no changes. Additionally installed Kodi with sudo apt-get install kodi command. Launched kodi and configured 5.1 speaker setup in Settings -> System -> Audio. No other changes were made. And my Denon receiver under...

Official Pi 4 firmware download page?

Hi,

Can't find it.
Except one in the mid of the High Temperature thread. Someone posted it. But not sure if it's official or not.

So what is the official location for stable and beta firmwares including release notes.

Thanks!

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 (Kodi+Serviio) as an alternative to HTPC

Thanks for quick answer. Of course I'm aware that Raspbian or LibreELEC or any other OS will need time for ironing. I'm not planning any transcode with Serviio (I'm not even sure it can do that as Plex does). None of the transcoding is happening in my case at the moment. I tested Serviio on Linux on...

Raspberry Pi 4 (Kodi+Serviio) as an alternative to HTPC

I am planning this setup: Network (LAN cable) -> Raspberry Pi 4 with USB attached 3.5" HDD -> Receiver via HDMI -> TV All media and movies - in USB HDD A cheap alternative to my noisy and not efficient HTPC. Raspberry would run in parallel: - Serviio: to serve movies via DLNA to other TV. - Kodi: to...

Re: When are people in the U.S. getting their Pi 4s?

Hi all.

I am having trouble finding the 4gb version in EU.
What online shop have them available to order? Or at least pre order with a known delivery date other than "September"?

Thanks!
