Re: RISC OS on Raspberry Pi

<t>Erm, I don't think we said any such thing.  The port is in the hands of one developer who has access to detailed chip documentation, which the rest of us don't have.  While there's certain things other people can do, we're still reliant on him to have sufficient time to work on it.  So I'm being ...

Re: RISC iX (not) on Raspberry Pi

<r>I noticed someone's added RISC iX to the list of possible OSes on the Distributions wiki page, and suggests it's possible for RPi.  Sadly it isn't, for the following reasons:<br/> <br/> <br/> RISC iX has never been made available in source form.  A few binary copies are floating around, essential...

Hi Gert,

If you want me to look over your board I'd be happy to do that.

Re: DRAM on USB

<r>I use a USB flash stick as swap in my router (32MB RAM, MIPS 233MHz CPU). The performance of the router matters a <I><s></s>lot<e></e></I> depending on the speed of the flash stick - it\'s not the read/write time that matters, it\'s the latency. A stick with ReadyBoost support made a big d...

Re: RISC OS on Raspberry Pi

For anyone interested, we're trying to coordinate work on a RISC OS distribution for RPi in this thread on RISC OS Open. Feel free to join in!

Re: DRAM on USB

<t>An FPGA board with sufficient DRAM should do, but you\'d have to design the USB-DRAM interface. AFAIK there\'s no standard protocol for using DRAM over USB. I suppose you might want it to look like a mass storage device, but don\'t forget you\'d have to \'format\' it every time you power on.<br/>...

Re: News articles and blog posts about Raspberry Pi

OSNews missed the rather large disclaimer at the beginning of my talk that I don't represent the views of the Foundation (which I've asked them to correct). Ah well, hope I didn't make too many blunders.

ETA: they've fixed the attribution now
